But this move made him leave Ariel alone with Blaine, something he had sworn not to do at the beginning of the tour. They stood side by side as they watched the car start up and drive down the tarred road that stretched out miles and miles ahead. “How did you find out something happened to my daughter?” Blaine turned to Ariel immediately. “What?” “You did not ask about her in the elevator that day, which indicates you did not know. And that’s reasonable seeing you were unconscious at the time of the accident.” Her eyes were clear as she stared at him, and then she looked away as she said, “I saw it on the news.” “It’s old news now. Nobody is broadcasting it anymore.”
