I walked briskly down the center of the hallway away from Ms. Vivienne’s strident voice and did not look back. I was worried my Dad would at any minute grab the back of my arm and spin me around. “Where do you think you’re going, young lady?” Jeremy joined me mid-stride and we marched quickly down the long corridor toward the rear exit. As our hands touched, I heard my Dad’s booming voice shout, the sound of his voice echoing through the hallway. “EVELYN!” “Jeremy!” I shouted. “They saw us!
