Chapter 5

715 Words
Cole     The smell of bacon woke me up, I fell out of bed and hit the ground with a thump.  I ran out of the room and tripped over my own two feet falling down the stairs and ended up hitting the wall in the hallway. I stood up like nothing had happened and walked into the kitchen to find Starlet making food.     Starlet was a neat freak everything she did had to be neat and perfect no matter what. But the one thing she loved more than anything was cooking, that's why I put her to the job of making my meals throughout the day. “Morning Starlet” I yawned. “Good Morning Col… I mean Master!” She said.     I don't understand why she doesn’t just call me Cole, I’m not her real master, I mean I am her pack leader but not her master.  “I see you went through your usual clumsy morning again today.” She declared. “No One Knows About Them!” I order. “Of course not.” she said submissively. I then walked over to the pile of bacon and reached for a piece, then out of nowhere my hand had gotten hit by a spatchula. I looked over at Starlet to see her eyes glaring. “No grabbing the bacon until it's all made and everyone is here now go sit down.” She growled.     Starlet is the only wolf that can order me around, since the saying of “Never bite the hand that feeds you.” So i obediently went and took the head seat at the table.      The only thing that could keep me preoccupied from getting bored or irritated was looking out the window. As I stared into the forest, I noticed a silhouette of a guy walking out. I then stood up and went to the back door ready to yell at whoever decided it was right to go for a midnight run without telling me first even though we just had a nice run last night with the whole pack. Then I noticed who it was. I ran out the door to hear his report on Roxie. “Hey Cole.” He said. “Your report?” I asked right away.     “Yes sir, I did as you said and I followed Roxie and Cedar to their apartment, but the only thing was, that the place they went to, was a house not an apartment. On the way to there house Roxie was speeding so i had to run full out. I got a small break from running when Roxie got pulled over by an officer. But um… after the cop gave her a warning she drove off for at least another 5 miles and turned down a dirt road. Another car also followed them down the dirt road and I snuck around back to get a better look at the driver side to watch Roxie. She got out of the vehicle and confronted the man, who pushed her down and she screamed, the guy was human so I think she screamed intentionally to wake Cedar who was sleeping in the passenger seat. The scream did wake Cedar who came charging at the guy, and I noticed the man was the officer, but as soon as more sirens came on Roxie got up and tore the officers head right off his shoulders, then pulled Cedar into the forest and took off after Cedar came out of his blind rage, I followed them but Roxie was already nervous that they were going to send dogs or something to search, so she put blood on trees to get them or me off their trail.” He reported. “So Roxie lied to me?” I asked. “Yes.” he replied. “You think she knew you were there?” I questioned. “Um… I don’t really know sir, she every once in awhile looked behind her in my general direction but I think she was just looking for any watchers, I was well hidden.” He answered. “Okay, we will have to solve this problem soon. I’ll ask Roxie to move into my home.” I declared.
