20 “Well?” Halak demanded as she returned to the dark heart of the slum and climbed off her camel. She nodded. Ibin whooped with delight and she heard gasps from the Khumarah Assassins who stood in the shadows. Halak grabbed her arm and shook her. “Give it to me then. What are you waiting for.” She tugged her arm away and took a step back from the towering man. She put her hand to her head. After a while she smiled at the creature’s stubborn refusal to move and said, “Sand Scuttler, please sit on my palm.” The tiny creature grumbled. It worked its way through her locks and scuttled forward onto her palm. She brought it down and showed it to Halak. “This… this tiny thing is the Sand Scuttler?
