"Back, back, back, back, he's closing in faster than I thought." The tough guy tried keeping up pace with his sanity but his grit would not let him. The other guy who was at the back and had been fearful had been mute also. Complications of maladies. Both didn't know what to do. They hopped that that wouldn't be their end. The tough guy could think at once. He had no idea where his brain had been. Probably it had gone on a vacation but had later returned. He was glad that it returned. He positioned the g*n which had been with him since forever but had been without a use. He aimed it at the creature and c****d it. "Stay calm, Lude. Stay calm." He could be bold at that time and thought it the best time to give the other guy courage too. Then he turned to the monster coming towards them, "Be gone, motherfucker!" Before he could shoot the g*n, the Imp was already at his front and was holding the g*n. The g*n was still in the hand of the tough guy but he was sharing a hold on it with the Imp. Lude was going to run away but he wasn't that courageous. He wished he could be. He wanted to run and leave them to the battle that he might go and call the rest of the villagers. At least, able men. The Imp's hand was to the mouth of the g*n. If the tough guy still let the bullet out, he would still have the blow and watch the bullet lift the fellow into the air. That was a good option. He shot but the Imp already grabbed the g*n. The mouth of the g*n was up and the bullet went straightly up to be lost to the rays of the sun. The Imp looked up for a while and grunt. More like in surprise. He had expected something more than that. He wasn't actually afraid for his life. He knew that even if he got hit he would be saved. He was still feeling the pain the g*n had lent him earlier. He wished he could pay back. He should never let it known to the humans that he was hurt. He had no idea why he should hide it. He thought of an excuse. That was how he would act with the Centaurs that he might have the same chance of winning with them. He believed that winning is in the mind not hands. He had actually wanted to create relationship with these breed of creation who looked almost like him but he didn't seem to want to like them anymore. They seemed more like rude and provoking. If he had been like them in the first place, he wouldn't had wanted to save the lady he had seen and had been searching for. He had been hurt and devalued. He wouldn't stop then till he got to meet her and explain himself. Probably he was dreaming too much. "Go go, Lude. Go charge men. Tell them we're under some alien attack. Go now!!!" The Imp had no idea what the tough guy was saying to Lude. But he knew that twas always for their own good and for his own hurt. He wouldn't watch it happen. He actually didn't know what to do at that moment. He didn't want to hit them firstly. He had been taught to be coolheaded. He would wait and watch them hit him before he would make his move. If the hit was going to be ruthless, he would prevent like he had prevented the g*n shot. He still had the g*n in his hand. He flung his arm and watched the g*n sail and sail, travel and travel, fly and fly till it dropped far into the river. It sunk immediately. He looked towards the two again but found one. He looked around in rage for the other guy who used to be at the back of the tough guy. He saw him running through the woods. He was falling and running. He wanted to pity him. He could see dread and fear coursing through his back. He left the tough guy and rushed after the fellow. He was the one he had business with. He could use his vulnerability and weakness. That should work for him. He charged. Just few sways of his limbs and he was already borne across till he hit the lad and watched him make a thud on the earth. "Bastards, let him go! Come for me! Come for me if you're so strong! Let's see what you've got! Come over here coward!" He heard a noise. Like chains of syllables he couldn't make meaning of. He looked away from the lad who was trying to stand up. He looked at the other guy. His arms were spread and was walking towards him. He could scan the man's psychological stance. He could see that the fellow was only showing off. He could sense it. He didn't know what for. He had no idea what relationship Lude had with the tough guy. He was sure that twas peculiar. He wouldn't be in a haste. He would watch all the things unfold. The fellow kept closing up the pace between them. He was opting out for several options. He was predicting the next line of action of the tough guy. "Go, go, Lude. I'll distract him." He watched the guy look at the lad who was standing already. He knew that he had communicated with him. He didn't know what he said precisely but he knew that twas the same dumb idea. As the lad tried to run, the Imp held unto him and flung him over his shoulder waiting for the reaction of the other guy. He loved the reaction. Twas just talk and talk and no action. He could keep that going but he heard some noises from behind. He turned to look, several creatures who looked like the guy were coming. He should hide. He did few sways and vamoosed. The tough guy lost him. He had no idea when he left there. The tough guy watched the leader of the search party walk up to him and said,
