Nikolai's POV I sighed quietly as I walked back to my office, this was a pile of wolf droppings. I hadn't meant to pile all that on to Kyra at once, which is why we tried to give it to her gently with just a bit of information at a time. I shouldn't have underestimated how smart my mate was. When she just ran out of my office, I called out to her, but it was plain she was too panicked to hear me. So I just ran after her, and she was fast. I'm guessing her wolf was giving her a speed boost because I had to work hard to catch up. When I did, I grabbed her and pulled her into an alcove in the corner of the hall.
