Dancing with Kyra was like a dream. She was intoxicating, her warm scent overwhelming my senses. Luke kept urging me to claim her but I kept having to rein him in. She wasn't ready. I wasn't even sure she knew she was a shifter.
Most shifters stayed away from the human world, for good reason. There was always a chance that the wrong person would see you shift and either try to capture us to show us to the world or experiment on us to see if we could turn humans. Humans feared what they didn't understand and seeing someone shift into an animal was terrifying to most. Especially since the movies they came out with made us seem more like monsters than anything.
