Chapter Three Jackie’s week went by quick enough, as they do when one approaches middle age. She found herself wondering about Jeff from time to time and was a little surprised to find that she had enjoyed tormenting him. That seemed out of character. She thought about those feelings a lot. She was not, by nature, a vindictive person so it was also no surprise to discover that, in her own mind, she had forgiven him and held no real malice towards him.
