Jackie held on to his phone number, storing it with the Valentines he had made, at the bottom of her underwear drawer. She questioned herself as to why. She certainly didn’t entertain the idea of having an affair with a nineteen-year-old boy, but the fantasy was intriguing and she found herself mentally scolding herself for having the carnal cravings.
Wednesday evening and on a whim with Peter safely in front of the television, she dialed Jeff’s number, just to say “hi” she told herself. His mother answered!
