Chapter Six Becky locked up the library at five, started her little white pickup truck and headed home. She still lived with her folks but a year ago she had taken over the little apartment her dad had built above the driving shed for her grandmother. When granny passed, Becky just moved in from the main house and her mother finally got the sewing room she had always wanted. Becky went up the steps and dropped into a chair. Hunger gnawed at her insides but as she looked into the kitchen, the ghost of Danny Miller curled up before her like smoke from a smoldering fire. She got up and fished a beer from the fridge.
