Chapter 12

2880 Words

Chapter 12Adrian’s hands were unpleasantly sticky as he rolled them against a floury counter in the bakery. “You’re overworking the dough,” Daniel said disapprovingly. Adrian released a deep breath of frustration, glaring at the tough and lumpy clump in front of him. “I’m doing exactly what you told me to do!” “You most certainly are not,” Daniel chastised, pursing his lips. “Bread isn’t metal; you need to be gentle with it. If you’re too rough, the dough will become tough and tight.” Adrian wiped his hands against the frilly apron Daniel had insisted he wear, before shooting him an award-winning smile. “I thought you liked it when I was rough.” Daniel flushed prettily at the comment. “You really are a menace!” he huffed, his ears turning bright pink as he snatched the ball of dough.
