Chapter 5

Karina’s POV.

“I think I need time to talk to my fiancée.” Devonte said in a low voice making me gulp.

“You gon get it now.” Melanie whispered into my ear

“Yup.” I said popping the p. “I’ll see you in hell.” I mumbled and she chuckled and they all left the room along with the nurses.

Devonte looked at me with a scary glare making me want to sink into the covers.

“How you doin’?” I asked sheepishly and wiggled my fingers at him.

He took large steps towards me and I shrunk back into my sheets and pulled them over my head.

I felt the bed dip next to me and he slowly pulled the covers from my head and just looked at me not saying anything.

I shifted uncomfortably and avoided his gaze. “Am I making you uncomfortable?” He asked and brushed his nose along my jaw making me squirm.

“Mhm.” I nodded still avoiding his gaze. He grabbed my face and made me face him but I quickly closed my eyes not wanting to look at the expression on his face.

“Open your eyes baby.” He whispered and I felt something wet drop onto my cheek.

I opened my eyes and started wide-eyed at my fiancée.

I wiped away the tears that were trickling down his face. “This is such a good look for you.” I mumbled sarcastically making him chuckle and wipe away a few tears.

He cupped my face and brushed his lips against mine. “You scared me.” He whispered.

“I thought you left me.” He whispered and my breath hitched at the thought.

“When you were laying there looking all dead my heart felt like it was ripped out of my chest and was being squeezed.” He said and I felt tears prickling my eyes.

“I’m sorry.” I whispered and softly caressed his cheek.

“I love you and our babies.” He said and tears of joy escaped my eyes.

“I love you too asshole.” I said and laughed as I heard my babies cooing in agreement.

“Sorry to interrupt ma’am but I think it’s time you fed your children because they normally don’t go this long with out food when they are first born.” A nurse said with a small smile as I nodded my head.

“Bring my little baby gumgums over.” Devonte said making me look at him with a raised eyebrow.

“You know ‘cause they only have gums and no teeth yet?” Devonte asked as he held his son and daughter in his arms and looking at them in adoration.

I smiled softly at them and sighed dreamily. “Okay bring my little babies to me so that they may feed and become as big as my man.” I joked and he chuckled and sat down next to us.

Arthur is yet to open his eyes so I wonder if he’ll have the same eye colour as his sister.

The nurse showed me how to feed them and soon they were suckling on both my breasts.

“How do you feel?” Devonte asked a few hours later as he kissed my forehead.

“Hungry and tired as fuck.” I muttered and yawned a little. He chuckled and kissed my forehead again.

“Okay let me get these little letches off you.” He whispered and nodded to our sleeping babies.

He softly detached them from my now aching boobies and I hissed and rubbed my sore n*****s.

“Yo I just realized that your kids have such white names.”  Megan said from the sofa startling me.

“And your name isn’t white as well?” I asked and pulled the sheets over my boobs. “Girl why you tryin’ to hide your boobies we’ve all seen them fool.” Amanda said and snickered when I shot her a glare.

“We were all watching you breastfeed those little bastards.” Amanda said and shrugged like it was the most natural thing ever.

“Oh and I just remembered something. Megan hand over that cash bitch.” Amanda said making Megan groan and toss a roll of money to Amanda.

“Thank you.”   She said and stared counting the roll of money.

“Actually, before you start counting that money, toss it back ‘cause you cheated. You unlike me asked the nurse to tell you as soon as Karina started breastfeeding her kids.” Megan said making Amanda curse and toss back the money.

“You guys are loonies.” I mumbled and Megan started laughing. “Yeah says the person who used to bite people when she liked them. I swear it was as if you were marking us as your friends.” Megan said referring to when we were still 14-15.

I turned a pretty shade of pink at the memory. “Shut up.” I mumbled and hid my head my head under the covers making everyone laugh.

Someone pulled the covers from my head and I looked up to see a smirking Devonte. “What are you doing?” He asked with a chuckle and I gave him a pout. “These guys were making fun of me.” I muttered and pouted even more.

“What were you guys saying?” Devonte asked with a serious voice but you could still see the amusement in his eyes.

“Oh you missed it. We were talking about how Karina used to bite people that she liked. So we were saying it was like she was marking us as her friends.” Megan said making Devonte burst into laughter.

“She used to do that?” He asked making me go even more red and trying to hide even more.

 Devonte climbed under the covers with me and chuckled when he saw how pink my face was. “You’re so cute.” He mumbled and kissed my cheek.

I frowned at him and huffed. He laughed and kissed my cheek once more. “Careful. I might just bite.” I said and smirked at him making him burst into laughter.

“Are you guys f*****g underneath there?” Amanda asked as she yanked the sheets from over our heads.

“What if we were? Would you join?” I teased and Megan burst into laughter when Devonte made a gaging noise.

“Hey speaking of the word f**k. Where the f**k is Melanie?” I asked as I sat up with the help of Devonte.

“Well my friends. Our little Mel has gone to loose her innocents that’s where she is.” Megan said with a smirk making Amanda cringe.

“Man what the hell? That’s my brother and best friend why would you make me picture that?” Amanda shrieked making us all laugh but then a cry was heard.

“Great.” Megan mumbled making Amanda shrug sheepishly.

“Come on we should get going Amanda.” Megan said with a yawn and Amanda replied with a yawn.

“Yeah it’s getting late.” Amanda said checking her watch.

“Yeah okay. Bye guys.” Devonte said and kicked them out of the room before I could say anything.

“RUDE!” We heard Megan yell making me chuckle.

“Why did you kick them out like that?” I asked Devonte and he just shrugged and started gently swaying with our crying son in his arms.

“Look at you. You were so scared to hold Athlea and now you’re putting our other kid to bed.” I whispered as Arthurs crying died down.

Athlea started crying making Arthur wake up and start crying as well. “Here hold your son while I get the other one.” Devonte said and handed me Arthur while he went to pick up Athlea.

“Hey baby. Do you know who I am?” I asked him softly and he stopped crying and his eyes fluttered open making me gasp.

“You guys have such pretty eyes.” I told him and kissed his little cheek making him do a little giggle.

“Oh my gosh! Devonte! Arthur just giggled and it’s the cutest thing ever. Also he has like a dark greenish eye colour.” I said and Devonte ran towards us from behind the curtain.

“What? How did you get him to stop crying so fast?” He asked and looked at my now sleeping son.

“Damn this kid sleeps really fast.” I mumbled and he did a little smile making us both coo in adoration.

“Athlea is quiet but she’s wide awake.” He mumbled and handed her to me.

“Hey girl.” I said and she did a little pout that was similar to mine but hers was ten thousand times cuter but I was never going to admit that. “Just like her mama.” Devonte said and I chuckled and kissed her head making her laugh.

“Did you hear her?” I asked Devonte and he looked stunned as well. “That was so beautiful my little princess.” I mumbled and kissed her little cheek. I hummed softly and in a matter of seconds she was out like a candle.

I looked down at my little angles that were sleeping peacefully and fisting my hospital gown.

“You have something about you that makes everyone fall for you don’t you?” Devonte asked making me take my eyes off my angles.

“Hmm? What are you asking?” I asked him sleepily and he kissed my lips softly.

“You make everyone fall in love with you. How do you do it?” He asked me with his lips still against mine.

“Nah there still people who hate me I’m sure.” I said and chuckled as he frowned.

“Fine forget about those people. Other than them you make everyone fall in love with you.” He said and kissed my lips.

“Sure.” I said and rolled my eyes at him. He kissed me and lightly bit my bottom lip. “When we get home I’m gonna punish you for rolling your eyes at me baby girl.” He said huskily making my breath hitch and shivers run down my spine.

“Don’t make promises you can’t keep old man.” I teased and bit his lip in return. “I love you.” He said and chuckled.

Before I could reply a phone started ringing.

“Yes hello?

What do you mean?

What?!

I’m sorry but my wife just had a baby so I won’t be able to make it.” He said and ended the call.

“What was that about?” I asked and he shrugged.

“Don’t worry about it.” He said and kissed me to silence me. “Say it.” He growled and kissed down my neck.

“Say what?” I asked and he nipped my neck softly. “Say you love me.” He said and I giggled.

“I love you Devonte.”
