Chapter 7

Melanie’s POV

*4 months later*

A wave of nausea came over me and I bolted out of bed and went straight to the toilet and my dinner from last night came rushing out to say hi to me.

I groaned and washed out my mouth and brushed my teeth and flushed the toilet. I shuffled my way to the bed and got under the sheets and pulled them over my head.

“You okay baby?” Tristan asked me and shook me awake making me glare at him.

“Why aren’t you at work?” I asked and tried to hide back under the sheets. “Because it’s 5:00 pm and my fiancée wouldn’t pick up the phone so I got let out a few minute early.” He said and I sat up really fast but instantly regretted it as another wave of nausea hit me.

I ran to the bathroom and emptied myself into the toilet. Tristan held up my hair and gently rubbed my back. I stood up and brushed my teeth as Tristan flushed the toilet. I shooed him out of the bathroom and took a shower and ran to my closet looking for clothes.

“Wow, wow, wow what in the name of paprika are you doing?” Tristan asked and grabbed away my nurse uniform.

So after the incident with Mason I quit my job at the nursing home and got hired as a nurse. “I need to go. I work the 5 pm shift baby and I’m gonna be so late if I don’t go right now.” I said trying to jump up to get my uniform.

“Oh no you don’t.” He said and grabbed away my other uniform from me. I put on my underwear and bra and ran into the laundry room and when I reached there the dryer stopped and I searched for my uniform and quickly put it on before Tristan realized what I was doing.

“Take that f*****g uniform off right now or so help me I will burn all of these and call your hospital to tell them that you quit.” Tristan yelled from outside the room.

Thankfully the laundry room was on the first floor so I climbed out of the window and I could hear Tristan coming towards the room.

I ran to the back door and quickly grabbed my purse, shoes and car keys and ran into my car and locked all the doors and looked for the key to start the car when Tristan banged on my window making me scream and drop my keys.

“Melanie Amber Cole don’t you dare start the f*****g car!” He yelled and I could see his eyes burning with furry. I blew him a kiss and picked up my keys and started the car.

“Melanie!” He said in a warning tone but I blew him a kiss and drove out of the drive way and towards the hospital.

I parked the car and ran inside with my shoes and purse in my hand. I reached the front desk and Amanda burst into laughter.

“He wouldn’t let you leave I’m guessing?” Megan asked from behind me and I laughed and nodded.

“He’s so over protective it’s kind of getting out of hand you know.” Someone said and we turned to see Karina!

We all jumped on her and squeezed the living day lights out of her.

“Oh my god! Where the f**k has you been fool?” Megan asked and slapped her shoulder.

“Umm taking care of my kids who by the way are now super big and chubby.” Karina said and pulled out her phone to show us the pictures.

“Karina!” We heard a masculine voice yell making everyone turn to look at the person who was disturbing the silent hospital.

“Oh my god Chris will you shut the hell up?” Karina whisper yelled at her older brother making me giggle.

“Sup ladies.” Chris said and winked at us making Karina gag. “Jesus Chris these ladies are off the hook for you.” Karina said and smacked her brothers’ arm.

“Really? Even maniac Mel?” Chris asked with disbelief and I showed him the bird then the diamond on my finger.

He grabbed my hand and looked at the ring in disbelief. “Holy s**t! What the f**k?! Where was I for all this s**t?” Chris asked and glared at me.

“Who knows probably f*****g your flavor of the week.” Amanda said ignoring the glare that she got from Chris.

“Who put the ring on you?” Chris asked still holding my hand. “Me.” A voice said from behind us and we turned to see Tristan.

I pulled my hand away from Chris and made a run for it. “Oh no you don’t.” Tristan said and grabbed me by the waist and flung me over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

“Put me down you ogre! You slimy slug! You orange potato head! You, you ugly fat cockroach!” I yelled as I smacked his muscular back.

“You married him?!” Chris asked in disbelief and did a face palm. “Yeah you got a problem with that?” Tristan asked in a menacing tone and I smacked his back so hard that it echoed through the hospital.

“God f*****g damn it!” Tristan said and dropped me. Before my head could come in contact with the ground a pair of muscular arms caught me.

I opened my eyes to see that it was Sebastian, Chris’s older brother. “Sebastian!” I squealed and hugged him.

“Who the f**k are you?” Sebastian growled at Tristan making me gulp and Karina gave me the look that said “Oh f**k”

“I’m Tristan and the girl in your arms is my fiancée so get your f*****g hands off her.” Tristan growled and glared at Sebastian.

So let’s meet Sebastian. Sebastian is Karina and Chris’s older protective brother who was super nice and never got angry easily, but if someone he loved or cared about got hurt he wouldn’t hesitate to take their life. Oh and I forgot to mention he’s the youngest general the army as ever known but he retired.

Sebastian is now 29 and Chris is 26.

“Last I saw you tossed her off your shoulder and she was about to hit her head against the floor and probably get brain damage.” Sebastian growled and tightened his grip on me as Tristan came closer.

“Well that was my fault and I appreciate that you saved her but you don’t need to hold my fiancée anymore.” Tristan spat making Chris smirk.

“Now, now boys I’m sure Melanie has something to say. Don’t you sweetheart?” Chris asked and I gave him a glare.

“Yes I do. Tristan go home, Sebastian I’m fine so you can put me down and Chris stop trying to be a little asshole.” I said and Sebastian put me down while Chris gave me a wink.

Tristan came and grabbed my arm and started puling me towards the car. “Tristan stop! I’m at work and you need to go home!” I growled and tried to loosen his grip on me.

He stopped and turned suddenly making me slam into his chest. He glared down at me and ran his fingers through hair. “Mel I can’t leave you here because a) You’re sick and have been for the past week, b) I want you home so I can take care of you and c) I don’t want those guys near my woman.” He growled and I giggled.

“You’re such a worry wart and does that mean you don’t trust me enough to let me be with my guy friends?” I asked and glared at him.

“What no! That’s-” He stopped and ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. “God damn it Mel. That’s not what I’m saying at all. I just don’t trust them around you not the other way around.” He said and cupped my face in his large rough but yet soft hands.

“Then go home baby. It’s not like I’m gonna run out on you.” I told him and he growled at my reply. “For a human you sure do growl a lot. You sure you’re not a werewolf baby?” I teased and caressed his face making him lean into my touch.

“If I were a werewolf you would have a mark on your neck baby.” He said and I giggled and kissed his lips softly. “Go home baby or go do something fun with your colleagues or child hood friends or just some random people.” I say and giggle as he glares at me.

“Just don’t cheat on me while you’re having all your fun.” I joke and give him a sweet kiss on the lips.

“Fine I’ll go home but I want you to call me tomorrow so I can pick you up.” He commanded and I nodded and gave him a deep kiss which he instantly responded to and put my legs around my waist.

We heard hooting; whistling and booing which probably came from Chris and Sebastian.

I giggled and Tristan put me back on my feet and kissed me one more time and hugged me tightly. “Jeez will you let her go already? You’d think she’s traveling or something.” Chris said and pulled me into his embrace instead making Tristan growl and me giggle.

“Man just go!” Amanda said and shoved him out the door with the help of Sebastian.

“I don’t like that guy baby girl.” Chris mumbled into my ear and I smacked his arm. “Well he’s my fiancée so deal with it.” I said and he nodded. “Oh I intend to baby girl.” Chris said and gave me a creepy smirk making me giggle and kiss his cheek.

“Come on Mel stop flirting with my brother and get to work.” Karina said and winked at me making me laugh and shake my head.

“Don’t you have a baby to nurse or something?” Chris asked and wrapped his arm around my waist.

“Oh s**t! f**k! f**k! I need to go!” She cursed making Sebastian pinch her. “Ouch what the f**k?” She hissed and he shrugged. “Stop cursing Karina.” Chris said and glared at her making her flip his off.

“Son of a-” Chris started and chased her. Karina can run pretty fast in heels. She ran out of the doors and straight into Devonte’s chest.

“Wow baby why are you running like your ass is on fire?” Devonte asked and checked her for injuries.

“Chris…is…chasing me.” She panted and Devonte burst into laughter when he saw Chris laughing like a maniac on the floor.

“Hey man.” Devonte said side stepping Karina and the expression on her face was priceless. I burst into laughter but suddenly a wave of nausea came over me and I ran past Devonte who looked like he was expecting me to run into them.

Instead I dogged him and ran outside and emptied my guts into the plants. “Jesus Christ Mel.” I heard from behind me and someone held up my hair and rubbed my back soothingly.

I spat and saw that it was Chris. “Are you okay?” He asked me and handed me a bottle of water.

“How long have you been like this?” Sebastian asked and cheeked my forehead for a fever but I swatted his hand away.

“I’m fine.” I said and drank some water. “The f**k you are.” Chris said and looked at me with a worried expression on his face.

“Here” Karina said and handed me a pregnancy test. “Are you serious? Why do you even carry those around with you?” Megan asked with amusement in her voice.

“I don’t know. I just feel pregnant sometimes so I’m just like what the f**k lemme just buy a bunch cause I can’t stand the looks I get from the nasty old lady at the pharmacy each time I go in there.” Karina said and did a little shudder.

“Wait you’re pregnant?” Devonte asked and Karina looked at him like he’s a monkey. “If I were pregnant you think I would be here? Nah I would be at KFC and In-n-out by now.” She said and we all laughed when Devonte sighed in relief.

“What so you don’t want me having your kids again?” She asked and glared at him.

“No! No I want you pregnant again but it’s just too soon.” He said and she giggled. “I know I was just teasing you.” She said and kissed his cheek.

“Guys I think you’ve hogged all the attention for long enough and now it’s time to share it with Melanie.” Megan said and pointed at me.

“Go take the test.” Chris whispered into my ear and a shiver ran down my spine.

“Okay” I whispered and went to the bathroom with Megan and Karina. “Where’s Amanda?” I asked after washing my hands.

“Who knows probably f*****g Sebastian.” Megan said and Karina actually vomited.

“That’s f*****g nasty you b***h!” Karina said making Megan burst into laughter and I shook my head at them.

“Is it done yet?” Megan asked referring to the pregnancy test and Karina looked at her watch and nodded.

My heart was pounding in my chest and I took a shaky breath and looked at it. “It’s…”
