The haunting sound of war horns echoed through the Lycan Kingdom.
Ava stood beside the castle window, watching thousands of warriors gather below. Silver armor gleamed beneath the morning sun as Lycan soldiers formed ranks around the palace.
She could hardly believe they were preparing to fight because of her.
Kael entered the room, calm as ever.
"You should remain inside the castle."
Ava shook her head.
"No. I won't hide while others risk their lives for me."
A faint smile crossed Kael's face.
"You're braver than you realize."
Before either of them could say more, the castle doors burst open.
"The Silver Moon Pack has arrived!" a commander announced.
Kael nodded and strode toward the palace gates.
Ava followed despite the guards' protests.
Outside, hundreds of wolves faced one another across the great stone bridge leading to the castle.
At the front stood Damian Blackwood.
The proud Alpha who had rejected her only days earlier looked exhausted. His clothes were torn, and regret filled his eyes.
"Ava!" he called.
She didn't answer.
Damian took a hesitant step forward.
"I made a terrible mistake."
The words stunned everyone.
"I judged you by your rank instead of your heart," he continued. "Please... come home."
Ava remembered the humiliation, the laughter, and the pain of hearing him reject her before the entire pack.
"There is no home for me there anymore," she replied quietly.
Damian lowered his head.
"I know I don't deserve forgiveness."
Before anyone could respond, the ground began to shake violently.
A deafening roar rolled across the mountains.
A crack split the earth between the two armies.
From the darkness below emerged a monstrous wolf with crimson eyes.
Behind it came dozens more.
"The Blood Fang Clan..." Kael whispered.
The ancient enemy of the Lycans had returned.
Without warning, the beasts charged.
Chaos erupted.
Lycan warriors and pack wolves fought side by side against the invading monsters.
Ava watched in horror as one creature slipped through the battle lines and lunged toward an injured child.
"No!"
She ran without thinking.
The beast raised its claws—
A blinding silver light exploded from Ava's body.
The creature was thrown backward as a wave of power swept across the battlefield.
Everyone froze.
A glowing crescent appeared on Ava's shoulder.
Her eyes shone silver, and a crown of moonlight formed above her head.
The elders dropped to one knee.
"The Moon Queen..." one whispered.
Kael looked at Ava with quiet pride.
"The royal blood has awakened."
The Blood Fang wolves hesitated for the first time in centuries.
Their leader stared at Ava with hatred.
"So... the lost heir lives."
He smiled coldly.
"Then we shall finish what we started twenty years ago."
The battle had only just begun.
