Mira’s POV,
“Mira, where did you even get lost?” Soren twisted her fingers near my ear to break my trance as we were walking in the garden together. The afternoon sun was showering us with a golden hue, the lilacs blooming in full but my heart felt heavy for an unknown reason.
“I-It’s nothing. I was just feeling a little sleepy,” I mumbled trying to come up with a reliable excuse, but Soren glared at me trying to find out the truth.
Suddenly, I found Beta Rylan in the courtyard and sped up my pace, leaving Soren alone behind.
“Hey, where are you going, honey?” she called after me but I ignored her, stepping forward in a quick pace.
“Beta Rylan,” I said through my hesitant voice, “have you seen Alpha Elias today? It’s been almost a week and I haven’t seen him around the alpha castle.”
