Albert and Renee had a son named Rusty, which was the joy in their eye. They didn’t realize they could love anything as much as Rusty. Emma, being a proud grandmother, bragged about Rusty to anyone that would listen. Emma wished Frederick could have been alive to know Rusty. Albert worked hard on the farm. In May of every year, he planted cottonseed and picked it by the fall. Albert would hire hands from town to help him. Sometimes he hired cowboys that liked to drink. Albert also enjoyed a drink at the pool hall in town when Renee would let him out of the house. When he hired men to help pick cotton, he drank more and hung out more nights in the pool hall.
