On September 2, 1945, the Second World War ended. Albert and his family headed back to the farm in Nebraska while Cleo made plans for Nebraska as well. The farm needed a lot of work to get back to a productive source of income. Albert knew Cleo would go home and hoped Cleo was up to help him get the farm back in order. He knew Cleo had been a prisoner of war and he didn’t know what to expect. Albert let go of his resentments towards Cleo and his mom, realizing he needed to move forward with life, putting that chapter behind him.
