Roberta loved Nancy’s parents. Their names were Henry and Betsy Bundy. Henry brought his family to Nebraska from Texas. Roberta knew no one from Texas. She had met no one from anywhere but Nebraska. The Bundy’s differed from most families she had known. This family was loud, drank whiskey, didn’t go to church, and had fun. Talk around town was that they were heathens since they used alcohol and didn’t go to church. Roberta assumed it was only a matter of time before her mother found out that the Bundy’s acted like what she would call “Heathens” and would forbid her to see Nancy. Albert wouldn’t mind it so much, but her mom would throw a fit. Roberta began recovering from her hardships, and having this friend would help even more. She would have someone outside of the family to talk with.
