Chapter 37 — The Final Secret

422 Words
Lucas thought choosing Ella and Noah would finally bring peace. He was wrong. Because some people didn’t know how to let go of power. --- That night, Ella noticed Lucas was quiet. “You’re thinking again.” He looked at her. “You know me too well.” A small smile appeared on her face. “Someone has to.” For a moment, everything felt normal. Then Lucas’s phone rang. --- His assistant’s voice sounded urgent. “Sir, you need to see this.” “What happened?” “We found another document.” Lucas frowned. “About Noah?” A pause. “No.” The assistant lowered his voice. “About you.” --- Lucas opened the file. And his expression changed. The document was old. Very old. It was a family record. But one name caught his attention. His father. --- Ella noticed his face. “What is it?” Lucas looked at her. “My whole life…” He swallowed. “I thought I knew who my father was.” A pause. “But I didn’t.” --- The document revealed something hidden for decades. The Knight family had not built their empire alone. Someone else had a claim. Someone who had been erased from history. And that person… Was Lucas’s older brother. --- Ella stared at him. “Brother?” Lucas shook his head. “I don’t have a brother.” But the document said otherwise. A child born before him. A child removed from the family records. --- Before they could understand everything, the door opened. Ethan walked in. His expression was serious. “You found it.” Lucas looked at him. “You knew?” Ethan nodded. “I was trying to protect you from this.” Lucas’s voice became cold. “Everyone says that.” A pause. “But everyone keeps lying.” --- Ethan looked at Ella. “The person behind all of this isn’t your family.” He looked at Lucas. “It’s someone who believes they are the rightful heir.” Lucas’s eyes narrowed. “Who?” Ethan took a breath. “The person who has been watching you since the beginning.” --- Suddenly, the lights went out. Ella held Noah close. Lucas immediately moved toward them. Then a voice came from the darkness. “You finally found the truth.” Everyone froze. The voice continued: “But you’re too late.” The lights turned back on. A person stood there. Someone Lucas knew. Someone he never expected. Chapter 37 End.
