Chapter Ten He was a coward; there was no other word for it. Mason hadn’t spoken to Kelly or Hunter in a week since the fight at Sweet Treats. His bruising was nearly gone now, which only helped him to know that time had passed since everything had happened. Nate had been the one to let her know that no one had gone to jail. Mason had begged his brother to go by there and pick up his things, but Nate had refused. That had led him to buying a new toothbrush and other toiletries, since he had been too chicken to go get his own stuff. When he got home after work today, his bag was sitting on his porch.
