Chapter 5

Good morning Addy, how is Luke doing? Lira greets as Adelaide walks into the changing room but she could notice new bruises which her friend failed in an attempt of using makeup to cover it up,

"Why are there bruises on your face Addy?" Lira questioned keeping a sad look on her friends face.

"I slipped in the bathroom.ehm actually I fell off the stairs, yes I fell off the stairs." Adelaide replies trying to get her story straight taking her gaze from her human friend knowing her story won't be believed but she hopes Lira stops asking because she can never tell her the reason for some new bruises she spots when she sees her at times.

"You are a terrible liar and I keep telling you that," Lira replies to her,

"I know you don't want me asking but at least tell me you had it cleaned, before making use of your nonexistence makeup skills," Lira continues.

"What do you mean by that? I can apply a nice face powder and that is something," Adelaide defends herself as she pulls her hair into a ponytail.

"Indeed, let me help you cover-up," Lira pulls her to the seat beside them,

She opens the bag that was placed in the cabinet above her, she pulls out her make up bag with a face wipe which Adelaide collects to wipe her face by herself earning a soft gasp from her friend,

"It's not that bad Lira," she assures her friend with a smile on her face which her friend responds with a nod of her head and starts working on her face with a sad look on her face watching her friend hissing to hide the pain she is in.

"This looks better and it's a 24-hour face powder, you will be this good even after your last shift in the restaurant," Lira whispered to her as she drops the things she used back to where she took them from, Adelaide looks at her giving her a smile of appreciation and they both made their way out of the room to start their shift.

It was another evening after her final shift and she just got home with Luke after placing his change of cloth on the bed she decide to make a quick sandwich for his lunch before they made their way to the park house to join the other omegas in their assigned duties, the siblings got to the packhouse late because she had to help Luke with his homework.

She knows her lateness won't be taken lightly by the beta female "Beta Faith", she is the one in charge of the omegas of the pack, she oversees their duties in the pack and she is known to have bad blood with every omega she comes across she is nicknamed the "evil stepmother" by the omegas.

She hopes the punishment she is to receive from Beta Faith will be mild taking into consideration that she is to take care of her brother, the sibling steps into the packhouse and she tells Luke to go play with the other kids not wanting him to see her get punished, its always like this with them Adelaide protects her brother from all form of maltreatment and abuse including hers not wanting to taint his little mind.

"She just asked of you not quite long," Lamia one of the omegas she shares duties with frequently answered her unvoiced question immediately she steps into the packed kitchen increasing her anxiety,

"She is really angry this evening, I think it has something to do with seeing Beta Aaron having s*x with Sylvia," Kelly another omega tells her which results in a gasp in the kitchen because they all know what that means.

Beta Aaron is a pedophile who goes around r****g the omegas of the pack, it makes all omega stay away from him, although his mate knows about his infidelity and abuse of power, she still blames the omegas accusing them of seducing her mate, which most times results in heavy punishment from the Alpha or their son Mark.

The omegas prefer to be tied in the pole of their basement while their Alpha whips them with a silver-coated whip than taking their punishment from the Beta's son who is as bad as his father, he and his friends take turns molesting the omega before whipping with pure silver chain.

"Where is Sylvia?" Adelaide asked quietly feeling bad for the poor child who just clocked fifteen last week, her heart when out for the little girl whose elder sister Linda is nowhere to be seen in the kitchen.

"She and Linda took off into the forest when the verdict was given by the Alpha that Mark should give the proper punishment to her," Lamia answered her.

"They ran off, won't the warriors find them?" Adelaide said in shock.

"The Alpha sent some warriors to go after them when it was noticed they were gone but they are yet to return, so we are guessing they haven't found them yet," Elena replied to her with hope present in her eyes.

Most of them will flee away from the pack when given the chance but they are scared of what will happen to them when they get to another pack or are found by the warriors, Adelaide sometimes wishes she can also flee but she has to consider Luke who doesn't have his wolf yet and his school at least at Vires pack he goes to school and get to see her friend and his other sister Lira when he wants to even if she has to stitch her wounds or seek for help from other omegas almost every day, her brother makes every pain worth it and she will keep going through that to keep the smile on his face.

"I see you have decided to grace us with your glorious presence Adelaide." Beta Faith icy voice is heard at the entrance of the kitchen as she steps in and takes taunting steps towards her while she tries she steady her fast-beating heart, Adelaide go on her kneel bending her head in submission to her beta female as she feels her wolf whimper in fear of what is to happen to her human with her tail tuck between her legs.

"I am sorry for my lateness Beta female, I had to help Luke with his homework," she explains to Beta Faith solemnly praying she understands because her previous whip bruises are yet to heal fully.

"You omegas are a disgusting set of wolves who should never be pitied, I can see you choose to make an excuse to get away from your punishment," Beta Faith shouted angrily wearing a cold smile on her face.

"Not at all Beta female," she whispers with tears clouding her sight knowing she will be punished.

"I hope it is not her demonic son who punishes us," her wolf Luna whimpers already dreading who the punisher will be.

Her Beta female looks at her and hums in response as she walks past her towards the stoves that hold the pots and pan which contents contain the meal for the night, she picks up the hot pan that is just brought out of the oven removing the streaks in it, she places the hot pan on Adelaides back making her scream in pain with the dam of tears flowing freely down her cheeks while other omegas watch her in pity.

Beta Faith drops the pan a few minutes later not losing the cold smile on her lips, she walks back to take her stand in front of the wailing lady.

"Look at me," she commands.

Adelaide looks at her Beta female still in very difficult pain and her teary eyes were making it difficult to see her properly but she finds it difficult to wipe her tears with her hands because it was as if they were not ready to function from the present pain her body feels.

She felt a sharp slap on her face by the beta female who is looking at her with hatred and anger.

"Next time I decide to punish you and you scream that loud, I will make you regret it and what I will do to you will be more than what I did when I caught you with my mate, do I make myself clear?" Beta Faith instructs meeting the gaze of all the omega present in the kitchen,

"the same goes to you all sluts," she commands holding all their attention.

"I am sorry Beta female," Adelaide whispers trying to clear her sobs only to be hit in the face with the beta female knee which causes her nose to bleed and adds to her sob.

"Did I hit you hard Ade?" the beta female asks faking concern as she takes her face into her hand making the lady scared for her life.

She slapped her again harder than the previous one digging her nails into her face, she leaves her with a push to the ground making sure she falls on the same back making her scream in pain internally before she walks out of the kitchen.

Every omega present jump to aid her after their beta female struts out the kitchen, they make her pull her top knowing how she keeps her injuries away from Luke, they placed frozen vegetables found in the freezer on her back which made her want to scream in pain but they were quick to gage her with her top while the attention to her back.

They are always there for one another helping each other treat their wounds, cuts, burns, and bruises, they provide comfort for one another in times of need.

Adelaide places her head on Kelly's chest has the others help her treat her burn which she knows won't be healing anytime soon, she remembers the day the beta female found her under her mate who was about to take the only thing that gives her hope on having a mate, she is still a virgin and she tells her fellow omega its the only gift she can give to her mate because it is his to take.

She was tied up in silver chains behind the packhouse in the cold winter by the beta female for five days without food and water while she was been whipped daily by her son and his friends, the other omegas lied to Luke that she was busy at work but she was grateful to the beta female for coming in to stop him before he took her innocence even when beta Faith knows her mate didn't sleep with her, she still punished her.

Kelly keeps running her hand through her hair while the other sits on her waist putting her in place for the burn to be attended to, she watches her crumble in her arms and her heart goes out for her. She knows how difficult it is to take care of a child and Adelaide has single-handedly taken care of her brother since he was two, which makes them all envy and respect her.

"I will inform Mira to take Luke home and put him to sleep after dinner, you will go meet him when she confirms he's asleep," Lamia whispers to Adelaide who is tired from the tears and pain she is still

feeling.

"Here, this should cover the bruises on your face for work tomorrow," Lucy says to her holding out a small make-up purse to her which she collects.

She was taken home a few hours later after dinner and Mira reach out to them telling them Luke was asleep. She thanked them before laying on her tummy carefully on the mattress placed on the floor by Lucy.

How will she tell her best friend that the one who was supposed to help take care of them is the cause of her bruises, her family isn't allowed to talk about it because the Alpha commanded them not to, and only those who know her mother side of the family know that Beta Faith is her mother's younger sister and she became the beta female when her mate turned out to be the beta and ever since then she has been making it very hard for the omegas which she once was.

Even after the death of their parents, some pack members thought she will take the siblings under her care if not Adelaide but Luke who was still a baby then and they were not surprised to find her not even sparing the orphans a glance their way.

Adelaide's job is to wait at the tables with Lira and some other girls but if the owner of the café is around, she takes the cash register but when she isn't the friends have to take care of the register because they are the only ones, she trusts with it.

Like every normal day, she is to wait for five tables which she jumps to immediately she and Lira step out of the changing room. It's always busy in the café especially on Tuesdays and Friday, when they serve their infamous breakfast tray that comprises some waffle/pancake, bacon, sausages, and omelets with a jug of preferred juice and coffee muffins for dessert.

It's a Tuesday which is a day to expect more customers than usual and the workers are ready to serve them with a smile on their faces because the café is a family café with the interior looking and feeling all homely which makes all customers feel homey and comfortable immediately they step in.

"Good morning, I am Adelaide and I will be taking your orders this morning," Adelaide greets starting on her first table for the day.

After covering her shift in the café, she makes her way to the restaurant to continue with her shift for the day, she was appointed to the private room that is occupied with five men who are all supernatural and regulars of the restaurant and her good customers.

She met them two years ago when she first started working in the restaurant, they are said to be quite demanding but when she walked up to their table they were friendly with her probably because she is one of them which the manager and other workers of the restaurant found hard to believe, since then she has been their waitress anytime they come around.

Although the men are all different species and she is certain they are from Europe because of their accents and wealthy looking suits, she wasn't surprised when she heard they work in Romano Inc. not just as workers but they are the ones managing the company in America, a demon who introduced himself to her as Mr. Alan, a vampire Mr. Peterson, a dragon Mr. Davies, a fox Mr. Dante and a werewolf Mr. Bates.

The five men don't know why they all have a soft spot for the omega she-wolf but they find themselves attracted to her and not in a s****l manner, they feel very protective of her and their creatures always want to see her so they conclude to take her as a daughter.

They notice how malnourished she looks and they never miss the new scars that find their way on her body anytime they see her or the lies she tells when asked how she got the scars and bruises, they also know how happy she feels when she talks about her brother whom she nurtured herself.

"My favorite person in the world," Mr. Davies tease upon her entrance into their private dining room.

"Good afternoon old men," Adelaide greets grinning at the scowl they all wear.

"We still look 30 young ladies," Mr. Alan responds to her.

"And feel like hundred." She concludes with a smile.

"Why do I smell blood on your piccolo and why is your face caked?" Mr. Peterson inquires.

"We all know you hate makeup, so are you going, to tell the truth, this time or we should just pretend you are fine," Mr. Bates continues.

"Let's pretend she is fine," Mr. Dante replied watching her as she tries not to crumble under their gazes but she submit to the power radiating from them all.

"What do we tell you about submitting to us Mija?" Mr. Davies question her submitted form which was starting to shiver.

"Why don't you go get us our regulars and come back after an hour." Mr. Bates says to her with a gentle smile, she nods her head in response and walks out of the room.

For a lady full of life, Adelaide is also full of lots of fear and weakness which is one of the reasons why the men wish to have her under their protection but they don't know how to ask her.

"Do you think she will agree to come to Europe with us?" Mr. Peterson asks his friends who are also in deep thoughts.

"I pray she does because she needs help but she is scared to ask for it." Mr. Dante replies.
