The small pack is made up of a 3-story packhouse, a small infirmary and little huts made by family members for privacy with their family even with the little they have it will be expected their alpha should be a kind person but he is the opposite of that, Alpha Michael is known to be a selfish person who spends the funds given to his pack by his Grand Alpha on himself and his family only leaving his pack members to fend for themselves. Among the seated little huts on the Vires pack land is the smallest hut built by the Smiths, the hut is worn out on the outside because it has been passed down from generation to generation in the little family. The Smiths have been among omegas of the pack for generations and they are satisfied with the little they have to put on their table although as an omega they are the weakest among their pack members which makes them an easy target for the rogues when they come visiting but nothing can be done by their selfish alpha to stop the attack of the rogues. Their hut is covered in palm fonds and there are three little windows which allow the flow of breeze because they can’t afford electricity, the inside is made of a simple room and sitting room with a joint small toilet and bathroom for the family comfort, the kitchen is connected to the sitting room with a sink for their dirty dishes, a single stove for cooking and a shelf for plates and groceries. The room is occupied by a single bed on the side with a mattress on the floor for the children, a little shelf for books, and a cupboard for clothes. The sun shines through the window into the room of the Smiths shining directly to the bed where Adelaide Smith sleeps with her little brother Luke, the siblings have been living alone and fending for themselves ever since the last rogue attack five years ago it led to the death of their parents making the siblings orphan Adelaide was 16 and Luke was just 2 years old. The siblings have each other to turn to and Adelaide stepped up to the role of a big sister and mother to Luke since then, she makes sure he has the best by getting an after school job in a café in town then she works in the packhouse by cooking dinner for the members after work and also makes time for him by taking him to preschool and pick him up after school, Adelaide is now 21 and Luke is 7 years old she now works two jobs in town and takes care of the children in the pack still putting her brother first. She believes she doesn’t have a mate because of how weak she is and her brother is her priority, the bullies of her pack made her lose the little confidence she has making her more submissive than other omegas. Rubbing the sleep off her eyes she looks at the little clock on the wall which read 7 am meaning it was time to wake Luke up for school “Luke, it’s time for school,” she shakes the little body beside her who moves in response, he sits up also rubbing the sleep of his eyes with his little fingers “Good morning Addy,” he mumbles wrapping his arms around his sister who pulls him into herself in a hug with a smile on her face as she places kisses on his head in adoration, “good morning baby, trust you slept well?” she asks him already knowing his response “I slept like a baby” he responds bursting into giggles as his sister tickles him he tries escaping her hands but he can’t “Addy you win” he can say in between his laughter “I always do baby” she tells him stopping her assault on him. “Go take your bath and get dressed while I make breakfast for us,” she pulls him off the bed getting up with him, she leaves him in the room as she makes her way to the kitchen to make breakfast for them which includes six pancakes, two eggs, and four kinds of bacon plus two glasses of milk which both siblings are addicted to. After breakfast both siblings make their way to town on foot, Luke is still in elementary school he attends the only local elementary school in town which is free due to the elected mayor of the town and his sister works in a café far from his school for 5 hours in the morning then she moves to a restaurant for another 4 hours which is quite close to Luke school which makes it easy for her to pick him up after her work back home before they both go to the pack house to make dinner and watch after the children. She drops him in school and walks to the café for her first shift, she enters the empty café to see her only friend Lira who is also a waitress in the café “Good morning Addy, how is my sweet munchkin?” Lira greets her friend helping her with her bag, “he is fine and in school, how was your night?” Adelaide responds knowing her friend is asking of Luke. Lira has always called Luke the sibling she never has because she is an only child and she helped Adelaide with him from time to time but she doesn’t know they are shifters, Luke also loves Lira the same way and claims he has two elder sisters to everyone in his school. She changes into the t-shirt that is expected for the workers of the café to wear and the only black trousers she has using her apron she walks out of the changing room to join Lira in the now busy café to serve the customers who keep coming and going out of the café keeping them busy, once her shift is over she goes back into the changing room to change her t-shirt into the blue round neck walking out to the café to say her goodbyes to her friend and the manager “bye-bye Lira,” She waves at her friend as she walks out of the café into the sunny street walking to her next place of work. She walks into the fancy restaurant to meet the gaze of the manager who looks at the wall clock on the wall and at her gesturing how late she is in return Adelaide pleads with her using her eyes as she runs into the changing room to change her outfit which consists a tight black mini skirt and a tight cream t-shirt with a 4 i4-inches pulling her strawberry blonde hair into a perfect ponytail, checking her look in the mirror once satisfied with how she looks she walks out of the room into the busy restaurant getting the numbers of tables she is to wait, she starts working. Time goes faster than expected and her shift comes to an end signifying the end of another day in the city with no trouble but more hassle and she is tired, she waves goodbye as she walks out of the door to the few workers she smiles at and they smile back at her after changing into her regular outfit and worn-out converse walking down the familiar path that leads to her brother’s school. She stands outside with some parents who are also waiting for their wards to come out with the other kids among the kids walking out of the school entrance eagerly, she noticed the strawberry blonde pixie cut that belongs to her brother waving at him he run down to her as she goes on her kneel to accept his hug wrapping her arms around him and shower his face and hair with kisses which makes the boy giggle with amusement. “How was school today, little wolf?” She asked him as they walk the almost quiet forest path that leads to their pack breaking the silence, they are both in, although Adelaide is submissive and weak, she tries to be strong for her brother she accepts whatever punishment is assigned to him by the bullies in the pack gladly and will die before she allows a fly touch him which makes her good with kids because of her protective instinct. “It was fine Addy, we had science and I made the best titration Mrs. Josey said she was proud of me” Luke responds to his sister with a smile on his face reminiscing the event of the day, the Smith families are known to be brilliant educational which makes them an easy target for the bullies and there was no one to stand up for them when it happens “that’s nice little wolf, Lira and I are also proud of you always” She coos him as they set sight on their large packhouse which looks glorious where it sits. They make their way to their hut to change into another outfit had a quick snack and make their way to the packhouse to take care of the pack children. Life for the Smith siblings has been like this ever since the death of their parents, they go through the same routine daily and they do not know if it’s ever going to change soon maybe when Luke gets older and finds his mate which the older sister feels will be a good thing. Luke always wish his older sister finds her mate someday because she deserves to be happy and always seeing how mates interact with one another he wishes for that also for his sister, someone to cherish and love her, someone that looks at her as if she is his world and someone to stop her stress and give them a better life.
