I open my eyes, in a place that is totally unknown to me. In fact, a strong smell of antiseptic mixed with chicken soup forces me to open them. My head feels heavy, my body is numb and foreign. Everything is blurry around me. A woman, completely unknown, is standing across from me. She is wearing a white dress with a crisp collar and a white hat. Why is she standing still, looking at me? Her face – though I see it as though through a steamy glass – shows big surprise, as if she’s seeing an alien. Neither Panos nor my Phaedo are near me – only this unknown woman.
