Chapter 9. - The Academy

The next morning I woke up feeling nervous, I went to the shower thinking about my life, the rest of it. When I leave this house today I will stop being normal girl and I will move to completely new world, the unknown one. I put on black high waist shorts and a cropped black top. I took my suitcase, looked at the room I slept all my life one last time and went downstairs. Azazel was waiting in the living room.

“Aide”- He hugged me-

“When will I see you again?”

“Soon I hope.”- He smiled- “be careful”

“I will”- I nodded- “How can I reach you if I need you?”

“You are a smart girl, you’ll find a way”

“If you say so”

Celeste touched my hand.

“It’s time dear”- she said looking at me-

“Fine, I’m ready”

Tamiel took my suitcase and we went behind the house, in our yard.

“This is how it will go”- Tamiel started talking- “I will open the portal and we will take you to Academy, we will go with you to headmisters and after we will come back to earth”

I nodded.

“I am a bit scared”- I squeezed Celestes hand-

“It’s normal”- she smiled-

“Will I be able to see you again?”

“Of course you will”- Tamiel laughed- “There are always holidays”

“Ready?”- Celeste looked at me-

“Ready as I could be”

Suddenly the grey ball of light appeared in front of us and it started to get bigger forming the portal.

“Wow”- I said looking at it amazed-

“Wait until you see the rest”- Celeste smiled-

Tamiel took my suitcase and went inside and Celeste and me followed him. In about a second we found ourselves in different world. We were standing in front of the most beautiful building I ever saw. It was like from fairy tale or some movie. It looked more like a castle with all of those towers. The closest to this marvellous architecture back on earth would be some gothic church from France or England.

“Wow”- I said still admiring –

“You like?”- Tamiel asked-

“Are you kidding me? This is… beautiful, how is this even possible?”

“Well”- Celeste continued talking instead of Tamiel- “Angels are great at architecture”

“I can see that”- I said nodding-

“There is plenty more to see around here, you’ll see it”

“I can’t wait”- I said excited-

Tamiel and Celeste laughed I looked at them and noticed their wings.

“Wait when did you?”- I asked surprised- “I’ll never get used to those”

“Of course you will”- Celeste said lowering shoulders –

I saw a woman and a man approaching us. The man was a demon with black long hair and wings that followed, he was dressed all in black. Next to him stood a woman, she was a angel and had bright blond long hair with bright white wings, the wings were so bright it was so hard to look at them. She was dressed in some beige long dress and she looked gorgeous.

“Celeste, Tamiel”- The women smiled- “And this is Aideen I suppose”

“Ariel”- Celeste smiled warmly- “yeah this is our beautiful daughter”

“What’s with the hair?”- man said looking at me- “Isn’t she an angel?”

“Blaine”- Tamiel looked at him- “She is an angel but you know things are changing when angels fall out of grace”

“Yea I almost forgot you two are not so welcome in Haven”- the guy laughed-

“Shhs”- Ariel looked at him annoyed- “welcome Aideen. I am Ariel the head mistress of Academy and this annoying person is Blaine, he is head mister. You see we believe in harmony here on the Academy so each one of us are equal angels and demons. That’s why your roommates will be both angel and demons”

“Hello”

“Where are your wings?”- Blaine asked-

“Well..”- Tamiel looked uncomfortable-“ we are living on earth and we couldn’t have a child flying around so we ripped them off”

“You did what?”- Blaine looked at him annoyed-

I looked at Tamiel shocked, they continued talking but I couldn’t hear anything, all I heard was that weird buzzing. They ripped my wings away? What does that mean? I felt soft touch on my hand. I was sitting in some gazebo and next to me was Ariel.

“What?..”- I felt confused- “what happened?”

“I felt your panic so I teleported us here”

I looked around and saw vegetation all around us.

“You didn’t know about the wings ?”

“Yea”- I said feeling the rage deep inside me- “why, how could they?”

“It’s alright”- she touched me again- “they will grow back soon”

“Grow back?”- I narrowed eyes-

“Oh yeah”- she smiled- “I think it just needs a little help, this will hurt a bit” – she gently touched my back-

As I tried to tell her it doesn’t hurt I felt a huge pain on my back, I felt to the floor feeling the tears in my eyes. Damn it, I was ready to scream but then I felt something on my back. I turned my head to side and saw bright white feathers. I instantly moved them, it felt just like moving an arm or a leg a few drops of blood fell down to the floor. I got up and turned back to Ariel, smiling.

“I have wings”

“And they are wonderful”- she smiled- “are you feeling ok?”

I moved the wings around, spreading them and closing back. It felt wonderful. I nodded.

“I am fine, thank you”

“No worries”

I looked at my wings one more time, they were not so bright as Ariels, they were much whiter than my fathers, and than Tamiels and Celestes.

“Ready to go back?”- She asked-

“Yea”

“Take my hand then. “

I did as she asked and we were back with Tamiel, Celeste and Blaine.

“Look who got wings”- Blaine smiled- “a little too bright for my taste but those are not mine so“

I smiled. His attitude did not bother me a bit, the ones who bothered me were Celeste, Tamiel and Azazel.

“We have to leave darling will you be alright?”- Celeste asked-

“Can I have a minute with my parents so we can say goodbye?”- I looked at Ariel and Blaine-

“Yeah, of course”- she disappeared-

Blaine followed her and left a second behind her.

“Oh Aidee”- Celeste said looking at my wings- “they are”

“What? They are better than they were all this years”- I said mad- “I actually thought maybe to forgive you but after I just found out”

“Stop it right there”- dad said- “I can see you are mad Aideen don’t say something you will regret later, just so we are clear we are not the ones who ripped them”- he came to me and hugged me whispering- “Azazel did it but he did it so you can be safe”

I pushed him away.

“There is no excuse”- I grabbed my suitcase and went towards the entrance to Academy-

“Aideen, you know where to find us”- Tamiel yelled after me-

I came next to one of the statues of angel and put my suitcase down. As I turned around to look at Tamiel and Celeste they were gone. This is just awesome, I am here left on my own. Ariel and Blaine reappeared in front of me.

“Ready to meet your roommates?”

“I guess”- I blinked-

Afterwards I took my suitcase and followed them inside.

We passed the long hallway, I saw lots of art around while we were walking, this is like the best place for me. We passed into the big yard which was behind as we were walking I saw a couple of angels and few of the demons. They were talking almost as if they didn’t even notice us walking. We walked in one of the buildings nearby.

“So this will be your dorm”- Ariel said- “we will take you to your room where you’ll get to rest and meet your roommates, you will meet your teachers and everyone rest in a few days. Lot of the students are not here now they went home for a break.”

“You can ask your teachers anything, both of us are usually not here some of us”- he looked at Ariel- “have actual work”

“And here he goes again”- she rolled eyes- “here we are”- she opened one of the doors and I saw a room dignified of a palace room. It was huge there were 3 big beds but so far enough that we are able to have some kind of privacy. There were huge closets, mini bar and kind of a small living part. I walked inside amazed.

“We will leave you to get your thoughts together, diner is at six, but I’m sure your roommates will get you in everything”- Baine said-

I nodded. Ariel smiled and closed the door.

They left me alone in huge room, what should I do first? I walked to one of the beds pulling suitcase behind me when I heard the noise coming from the left. As I turned around I saw a gorgeous demon girl walking in. She had a long black hair, dark eyes big red wings and was dressed in black leather tights and matching leather crop top.

“Aideen I presume?”- She checked me out- “Love the hair, is that rebellion against all angelic or?”

“Yea”- I looked at her weirdly- “No, it just that way since forever”

“Well at least you’re hot”- she smiled- “I am Kali, my bed is the one with black covers, Ever took the one with the pink sheets and yours is the one with red ones”

“Ok”- I smiled walking to the bed- “Thanks I guess”

“O don’t thank me, Thank Geja”- she laid on the bad-

“Geja?”- I asked confused-

“Geja is a nature deity, the one who made all of us. Don’t they teach you angels anything?”

“Not to me apparently”- I sat on the bad looking at her-“my parents didn’t told me about any of this until recently”

“Get out of here”- she raised ton- “stupid angels, no offence”

“None taken”- I looked at her- “so Ever is a ?”

“An angel”- she rolled eyes- “you only have one suitcase?”

“yup I didn’t want to take my whole wardrobe because I would never be able to bring it”

“A fashion addict”- she smiled and walked up to me- “I already adore you”- she took my hand and froze-

“Kali?”- I looked at her worried-

She wasn’t answering, she just looked at me empty like she was not here anymore.

“Kali”- I started shaking her-

“Stop it”- she looked at me-

“What happened?”- I asked still worried-

“Are you worrying?”- She laughed- “don’t, I just had a vision I’m fine”

“A vision? About?”

“Well about you silly”- she punched me slowly- “we will be great friends”

“Really?”

“Yea, give me hands I will show you a trick”

I gave her hands, she touched me, closed eyes and before I knew it my clothes were all over the room.

“How did you?”

“Practice”- she smiled- “Let me help you getting it in the wardrobe”

“Fine”- I smiled-

So the rest of day I spent arranging my clothes and talking to Kali. I was getting a really good feeling from her, maybe she is right and we will be great friends.
