They reached the stairwell and paused at the landing of the bifurcated steps. Keriya looked at her Aerian friends. “You go eat. I’m fine.” Fletcher didn’t look convinced. Roxanne sized Max up before nodding and pulling Fletcher away. “We’ll see you tomorrow,” Fletcher called over his shoulder. Once they were out of earshot, Keriya turned to Max. “So, what’s wrong?” Max peered into the main hall, looking left and right. He spotted a servant and shook his head. “I’d prefer not to discuss it here. Would you like to speak in my room? We can teleport if you don’t want to climb the stairs.” Keriya nodded, nonplused. She embraced her source and brought them flashing to the hall where she’d spied on Max and Seba last night. Max unlocked his door and relocked it with both magical and physical
