“Fletcher,” she screamed. There he was, covered in filth and gore. He stood between two of the heavy artillery units, readying another explosive charge with three dwarves. “Keriya?!” His eyes widened and he hurried toward her. He raised the hand which sported his enchanted ring. “Commander-General Kvlaudium, I—” “Not you, too,” she snapped, swatting his hand down, though the audio enchantment did not depend on the ring’s proximity to one’s mouth. “Stop snitching and tell me how I can help.” “I don’t—you shouldn’t be—” “Fletcher, you need help. Look around you!” Fletcher swallowed. “The far side of the teleportal needs reinforcement. The sprites arrived, and they’re preventing shadowbeasts from coming through, but it’s not enough. If the enemy follows us into the Smarlands, we’re done.
