The meeting room was silent.
Cold.
Not because of the air conditioner but because of him.
“Fire him.”
The words left Alexander Kane’s lips without hesitation, without emotion.
Across the long glass table, no one argued. No one dared to breathe too loudly. Being in the same room with Alexander Kane was punishment enough.
When the meeting finally ended, chairs scraped hurriedly against the floor. Executives filed out like prisoners released from a silent execution.
Only William remained.
Alexander’s secretary noticed the thin line of sweat running down his spine despite the freezing temperature.
Alexander didn’t look at him.
“Have you found her?” His voice was low. Controlled, Dangerous.“It’s been five years, William...Five years of investigation and nothing.”
A pause.
“Should I start calling you useless?”
William swallowed.
“Boss… it hasn’t been easy, It’s like she never existed.”
Silence stretched between them.
Alexander leaned back in his chair, face unreadable. No anger,No frustration. Just that familiar, terrifying calm,
He had always been like this.
A man no one could read.
A man no one truly understood.
But somewhere in this city… someone from his past was still missing.
And he intended to find her.
" continue the investigation,I don't want any delays" he said with a low terrifying tone and subconsciously touched the red pendant on his necklace around his neck and muttered in a low voice "where are you?".
