CHAPTER TWO - ABIGAIL CHRIS

Beep… beep… beep… The sound of the alarm ringing filled Abigail’s room.

“Ugh…” Abigail made a drowsy sound, somehow annoyed by the alarm clock, seemingly reaching out to turn it off but ending up falling off her bed. That was when she woke up fully awake, whining in pain and trying to make it up from the tiled floor. She dragged her lazy body into the bathroom because she was supposed to meet her best friend, Amanda, in a coffee shop that day.

Abigail finished showering and dressed up in blue jeans, a white round-neck polo, and a pair of white sneakers, making her look exactly like a fresh graduate with her round, soft face without makeup, only a nude lip gloss on her red cherry lips. She hailed a taxi, and her phone rang. She knew it was Amanda calling her.

On her way, with a little long delay, Abigail arrived at the coffee shop a while later and sighted Amanda waving her hand at her.

While seated, she was relaxed. A cup of chocolate milk and Amanda started talking non-stop. “Any luck?” looking so eager at Abigail’s face to read the reply in her eyes.

“Any luck for what?” she replied, looking confused at the question Amanda had asked her.

“Don’t behave like I’m asking about the internship from Kane and crown Jewel’s Company. Any email?” looking at her best friend as though wanting to see her react.

Abigail kept a disappointed face. “No new emails.”

“Oh, I’m sorry, but let’s still hope.”

Immediately, Abigail’s phone rang and Amanda looked at her with gossip eyes. Then Abigail rolled her eyes and picked up the phone. “Hello, yes, it’s Abigail“Speaking, thank you,” the call ended with immediate joy on her face, and then she opened her email to check while Amanda looked at her with expectant eyes.

She said with a smile, “I got accepted,” and Amanda made a long, loud shout of joy which brought judgmental stares to them.

“So we are going shopping for your work dresses,” shaking Abigail intensely.

“Yes, yes, yes,” Abigail kept laughing and nodding.
