Ophelia ran behind Amaya, the girl not stopping until they were on the side of the city which was on the opposite end from where the prisons were. Somewhere near, a river seemed to rush through but all Ophelia could hear was the loud screaming of a girl much younger than herself. The screams were so heart-clenching that Ophelia pushed her legs to run faster, allowing herself to follow Amaya until she was standing in front of what looked like a ragged camp. All around her, in this secluded part of the city, closest to the forests were camps arranged. Like the one where Amaya had led her. And as Ophelia’s steps slowed, she realized that everyone standing outside the tents, was now looking at her. Humans. Undeniably human. All of them. And starving. It was like all the festivities,
