Josh and Marianne stood outside the council room and just when Josh was about to reach out and push the door inside to make their way in, Marianne placed her hand on his forearm and stopped him. He gave her a look of confusion.
"What are we even going to do about them, Josh?" She whisper-hissed at him. She knew exactly who awaited the two of them on the other side of the door. But she just could not bring herself to take the next steps.
Josh sighed and took her hand in both of his as he gently rubbed her knuckles. "We are at an agreement, my darling. We won't back down in front of them. Don't worry." He said, taking her hand to his lips before placing a soft kiss.
