The moment Ophelia reached the outskirts of the city, towards the human encampments, dread clogged her throat like a serpent. For a second, she could not shake off the feeling that something had gone terribly wrong. That was when she smelt the smoke. The fumes made it difficult for her to breathe as she ran further ahead and finally the human settlement came into view. Drowning in flames. There were no cries for help. No signs of any escape. All the human camps, burnt brightly in the dim of dusk as Ophelia staggered a few steps back until eventually she fell on her back because of the shock.
