It was early morning when I woke the morning only peeking slightly through my window. I hopped up in a pair of panties and bra and peered through my window, I had no pajamas and didn't feel like wearing jeans to bed. Just by looking I could tell it was going to be a cold day, I shivered in thought and grabbed clothes and bathroom supplies and headed to communal bathroom I would have been sharing with the girls if we didn't do the room switch.
Luckily for the twins I often took quick showers and didn't take long to get ready. Not that I cared what Adam and his brother wanted, they both seemed determined to make me squirm. For a split second I debated taking longer showers to piss them off, but I pushed the thought away not wanting to divide our team. I showered and brushed out my freshly cleaned hair, reveling in it feeling nice after months of being unwashed. I had taken longer than a normal shower to scrub the months of dirt from my skin, I came out of the shower two tones lighter than before and I patted myself dry with a towel.
I pulled on my last clean pair of pants, a clean set of black skinny jeans and I pulled on a red sweater on, as well as my jacket. I appreciated the extra warmth it provided. Next I brushed my teeth and took care of my business. I quickly moved to my room and put my belt and gun on my body. I peeked out my window and guessed it was around seven am maybe a bit later and went ahead and cleaned my dirty clothes from yesterday in the bathroom sink with very little soap as to not waste it. I threw open my bedroom window and let them dry there, sucking in a breath at the bitter cold.
I walked over to my closet and pulled on some socks and tennis shoes before heading over to the main room. I wasn't expecting anyone to be up but was pleasantly surprised to see Owen in the kitchen with a loaf of bread, he was next to the toaster and putting slices in. I slid into the kitchen sneaking up on him. I wrapped my arms around his waist and gave a slight tickle, Owen jumped in surprise and whipped around pointing a floppy piece of bread at me. "Girl don't do that! I could of killed you!" he says, I eye the piece of bread suspiciously "With the bread or. . . " I ask tauntingly with a small smile pulling at my lips. His eyes drop down to the bread in his hands as if noticing he was pointing it at me for the first time.
"No! Not with the bread! Ugh!" He huffed before turning around and putting it in the toaster. I smirked at him a bit before preparing to leave. He looked over his shoulder "I'm making toast for everyone, we definitely need to go hunting today or else we will run out of food." He says I nod at him and move and plop down in a chair. "I'll go hunting after our 'special guest' arrives. I am excellent at hunting and and scavenging." I say patting my belt.
Owen pulls out the toast before putting in another set, "If you could get some meat, I most certainly can cook it. I was chef before all this, and I bet I can get the girls to skin and dry the pelts, maybe use them later for extra warmth. Definitely couldn't hurt with how f*****g cold it gets." He says and I tug my coat tighter around me as if the words could make it any colder in the room. He slides a set of toast over to me and I crunch my teeth into the dry bread.
Sarah walks into the main building dragging the normally chipper Nora behind her who sleepily rubs her eyes and drags her beet across the floor. Owen makes quick work of the toast and slides it over to the two. Sarah thanks him before digging in while Nora just drops her head onto the table and groaning loudly before blindly reaching for her toast. I give a look at Sarah who shrugs and smiles at Nora. I wasn't sure if they were a couple or if they were just really close, but I thought the two of them were cute together. I smiled at the pair before finishing off my breakfast.
I heard the door from my side of the house open and close quickly and fast footsteps thumped against the floor. I glanced over as Adam rushed to the front hatch, I raised an eyebrow and called out to him "Got a hot date you forgot to tell us about?" He scowled at me from across the room before opening the hatch and reaching down to pull his brother up. He had a bag slung over his shoulder and was dressed in all black. He shook himself out before bro hugging Adam.
Adam Guides him into the kitchen and Owen slides toast to the brothers. The brother nods his head with a nice smile towards Own before sinking his teeth in. Adam pats his brother on the shoulder "This is my brother Liam, Liam this is everyone." He says his voice sounding more upbeat than the day before. Liam looks around the room eyeing each of us before settling on me "So you kept the Feral? My last group had two and they were deciding on whether to kill them or not when I left." He says locking eyes with me. I abruptly stood up and prepared to stand my ground. I saw his eyes drop to my belt and gun, "And you gave it weapons." He sneered "What could possibly go wrong?" He remarked.
I took a fierce step forward, "Back off. I may not be truly feral but I am not afraid to attack when provoked." I said to him. He raised an eyebrow in amusement "Ah, so it speaks?" He says and my eyes shoot to Adam silently begging him to let me smack his brother. His eyes seem to drop down in embarrassment. "Adam? I never thought I would say this but it appears like you are the nicer twin." I say and turn my attention back to Liam. I started to move towards the hatch preparing to go hunting like I had promised Owen I would.
Adam looks over to me "He is over reacting a bit we have had problems with ferals in the past." He says as if it was an acceptable excuse for the way I was being treated. I nod my head for a moment and then turn to Liam.
" I understand your concern, but hear me now. As of right now we are part of one team, I don't care if you don't like me thats fine, but cut the bullshit. If you want to keep fighting me, I'll go balls to the wall with you if I feel threatened. And let me tell you what dimples, you will sorely lose. Because I eat pricks like you for breakfast" I say hopping down the hatch and closing it shut behind me.
