Lea is mad as hell. How dare Charlie put the phone down in her ear, she tries calling him again, but his phone is switched off. Did he sleep with that woman? Is he sleeping with her right now? She takes another sip of the vodka in her glass. Hugo has long gone to bed, but she can not sleep. She keeps thinking of Charlie and that woman in his arms. She can not allow this to happen. She wants Charlie back, and she will get him back no matter what. She grabs a vase and throws it against the wall. She doesn't care if she wakes Hugo up. He would stay in bed anyway, not bothering her. He knows when she is drinking not to look for trouble with her. She downs the glass of vodka and throws herself another tonight. She wants to forget about Charlie and the w***e he married. She can not wait for them to come back from their honeymoon. Lea knows Charlie will have no illusions left of that woman. She is sure she can not be a virgin. Lea remembers how upset Charlie was when she was not a virgin, but he forgave her because he loved her. Charlie has always loved her, he can not forget her, and she knows she can win his heart back.
Charlie wakes up around noon. He feels relaxed, something he has not felt in years. Running a business as big as the one he is running is no joke. He remembers what happened last night. Next to him, the bed is empty. What the hell got over him last night? He acted like a bloody teenager. He smells food, and he feels hungry. So he quickly gets up to take a shower and gets dressed. He runs down the stairs and sees Valerie cooking. Can she cook? She keeps surprising him. Valerie looks up, but the cold Charlie is back. It looks like the sexy, caring Charlie is only meant for the bedroom.
"You can cook?" Charlie asks in his normal businesslike voice.
"Yes, unlike you, I did not grow up rich, Mr. Stevens. I had to learn how to cook to look after myself while my parents were both working their asses off. My mom did charity work, and my dad ran the law firm. We were not poor but not rich with maids and chefs like you," She answers him back. Why does he think she is a spoiled brat? Does he think she just went to work for him to catch a rich husband?
"Oh, I did not know that," He says matter of factly like he does not care. He is looking at his phone. He had like twenty calls, all from Lea, he frowns. Why was she calling him all night? He has a voice message from her, but it does not make sense as she is drunk and crying a lot. What happened to his Lea? He does not know her like this. Charlie is worried about her. He hardly listens to what Valerie says. He does not care. He is too concerned about his childhood friend and the old love of his life. Old? Doesn't he love her anymore? He is confused, and he needs time alone to figure it all out.
"The food is done if you want to eat," Valerie says.
"Go ahead and eat. I am going for a walk," Charlie says, walking out.
"Oh well, I may as well." Valerie is a bit disappointed she put a lot of effort into the meal, she will leave the food on the hotplates, and when he comes back, he can eat it or leave it. Valerie eats and then goes to put on a bikini. She may as well go for a swim. She walks down to the beach. She put suntan lotion on and decided to get a good suntan before going for a swim. She takes out a book she brought with her and starts to study while lying on the beach.
Charlie gets back from his walk, and he feels hungry, he sees the food on the hotplate, and he takes himself a plate. The food is delicious. He thinks about what Valerie said before he got distracted, so her mother did charity work. Ha, what a joke was she trying to make up for her past? He thinks of Valerie, and he wonders where she is. Maybe she took a nap? He walks to the bedroom, but she is not there. She may be on the beach. He walks to the beach and sees her playing in the water with some of the children on the island. He watches her as she laughs and splashes around in the water with the children. Who is this woman he married? He realizes that he judged her on her mother's past, but he never knew the real Valerie. She looks up and sees him. Her face goes blank, and she stops smiling and laughing. Is he that hard on her that she does not want to show him what she feels when he is near her? He turns around and walks back t the house. He does not understand himself since last night he is acting like a bloody moody teenager. Why did it upset him when she looked at him with no expression on her face?
He calls his office to hear if everything is still fine, and Billy tells him that Lea was there trying to find out where he is. He frowns. What is it with Lea? Why does she want to get a hold of him so badly? Is something wrong? Must he call her and just make sure she is okay? He can not help to feel worried about Lea. He has known her his whole life. He picks up his phone and calls Lea. When Valerie walks in, she is only wearing a tiny bikini, and she looks hot and beautiful. He looks at her perfect body, and the phone drops out of his hand.
"You enjoyed your swim?" He asks, but he does not take his eyes off her.
"Yeah, but it is too hot outside now, so I came in." She says, not looking at him and trying to get most of the sand out of her shoes. She bends over to pick up her shoes not to make the house dirty. He looks at her sexy ass pointing in his direction, and he totally forgets about Lea and the call he made. He walks over to Valerie with long strides and picks her up. He throws her over his shoulder and carries her upstairs.
"Put me down!"
"You need a shower and me too."
"I will shower by myself, Charles Stevens."
"No, you know how I like to take you in the shower."
"You are an asshole."
"I know, and you apparently like assholes, don't you? But, you are way too sexy for your own good, Valerie Stevens."
Charlie let go of Valerie in the bathroom; they take a long hot shower together. The shower turns into a long hot lovemaking session.
Lea is happy when she sees Charlie calling her, but she hears Charlie talking to someone else as she answers. She listens as he tells that woman how she needs a shower and how he likes to take in the shower. Did that b***h do it on purpose? Did she call Lea and let her hear this conversation? Lea is mad. She feels like she wants to kill someone, but she opens a bottle of vodka and starts drinking again. Her head is still hurting for the previous day, but after a few drinks, she starts feeling better, and she thinks of a plan to break Charlie and that b***h up. She will tell Charlie how the b***h called her while they were on their way to make love in the shower, she knows Charlie he likes his privacy, and he will be mad as hell if she tells him what that b***h did.
Lea thinks of the two of them in a shower together, and she gets furious again. She needs to stop this bloody honeymoon if only she can find out where they are. Billy did not want to tell her, so she would pretend she wanted to send them flowers and ask Isabella. Lea calls Isabella, and Isabella can hear that Lea has been drinking. She feels sad for this young woman who grew up in front of her.
"Hi, aunt Isabella. How are you doing?' Lea slurs
"Hi, Lea, I am doing just fine, and you?" Isabella answers.
"I am doing great. My husband and I want to send Charlie and Valerie some flowers to congratulate them on the wedding, but I do not know where to send it," Lea says, but Isabella just laughs.
"I don't think you can send flowers to where they are. They are on a friend's private island in the middle of nowhere, Lea. So why don't you just send the flowers when they come home," Isabella says.
"Okay, I will. Sorry for troubling you, Aunt Isabella, " Lea says, smiling. She only knows one of their friends that owns a private island, and she is sure she can convince him to rent her and her husband the other house on the island for a couple of days. She calls Bernie, and he is happy to hear from Lea. Although she sounds a bit drunk, he knows how good she always was in bed. So he agrees to rent her the other house, and she smiles happily. She walks to Hugo, where he is busy working in his office at home. He frowns as he sees her with the drink in her hand.
"I have rented us a house on a private island for a couple of days. We need a break and needs some alone time, darling. I have not paid enough attention to you lately." Hugo looks at his wife. He is surprised that she wants to spend time with him alone. However, he is happy and calls his pilot to get the private jet ready. He is not used to his wife being loving to him, and he has some hope for them again. He is now glad he brought her home to Houston. It may save their marriage. He leaves her to drink as she is already a bit drunk anyway, and they will only be flying tomorrow morning. Lea smiles happily. She has fooled Hugo again, and she has tricked Isabella into telling her where Valerie and Charlie were.
She walks to her room to pack, and she makes sure she only packs the sexiest clothes she has and the tiniest bikinis. She plans to ruin the honeymoon for Valerie, and she knows Charlie will not be able to resist her. She is sure he still has feelings for her. While she packs, she drinks a bottle of vodka all by herself, and she makes sure to pack herself enough alcohol to last her a couple of days. After that, she takes a shower, and then she passes out happily in her bed. She does not share a bed with her husband anymore. He irritates her endlessly.
The following day they drive to the plane early. Lea is wearing dark glasses, and the sun is not good for her headache. Even if it is just a glass of champagne, she needs a drink to take the headache away. Still, she will have to wait until they are in the air on the way to the island where Charlie and Valerie have their honeymoon, she did not crash their wedding, but she will crush their honeymoon. She can not wait to see Charlie's face when she shows up, just a shame she had to drag Hugo along to keep up the pretense. She knows Charlie will be happy to see her. As they walk onto the plane, she takes out a bottle of champagne.
"Let's have a glass on our second honeymoon, babe." She says to Hugo, who is not looking happy about her starting to drink so early, but he is happy that she wants to be with him, and he sips on the champagne, and he is just pleased that she only drinks one glass as they fly to the island.
