His mother hugged him tightly and greeted him very cheerfully. He hugged his mother back and kissed her cheek unenthusiastically.
"What's with your face?" his mother asked, furrowing her brows. Cassandra tried to carefully examine Elyseen's face, but Elyseen avoided her by walking briskly towards the dining room.
"I'm fine, Mom. How's Dad? Why didn't you tell me dad was sick?"
"He's just tired. Now he is fine and is on his way to the office. What time did you come home yesterday?”
"Midnight. I'm working overtime on some projects."
His mother frowned. Honest or lying, it would still put him in trouble. So, he had better tell the truth to his mother.
"It can't be helped, Mom. I have a lot of work to do at the office."
