Chapter 3

2143 Words
Alyssa’s POV I walked inside the room and slumped on my bed. The recent encounter with the mysterious guy was still running inside my head, tormenting my mood. Why did he have to be so handsome? Woah….wait, wait. What am I thinking? Did I just say handsome? Get a grip Alyssa. These charming guys are always dangerous. My dad always used to tell me that we have to find a spouse who is equal to us. In terms of status, finance and looks. So that there wouldn’t be any insecurities in a relationship. I guess he’s always right. He lived over fifty years and of course, he has more experience in this relationship mess. One thing was for sure. I trust my dad and I am sure he would always provide me with the best. While I was in my own thoughts, a loud shouting sound jerked me out of my thoughts. I blinked confusedly and walked towards my door. The sound slowly increased and I realised that it was my parents who were quarrelling loudly. I squinted my eyes in confusion. This was totally new. I have never seen my parents fighting before. What happened? “Please Jes! We are going to looking for a new house. A smaller house! End of topic.” My father’s voice was stern. “Please Aron, we have lived here for years. How are we suddenly going to move. This will make our children depressed when they come to know about it.” My mother argues. A heavy feeling set on my chest. What were they talking about? Selling the house? But why? “Dad….” I opened the door and walked out with baby steps. Both my mother and father froze when they saw me. The looked at each other, contemplating whether they should be telling me the truth or not. Of course I knew that familiar look they gave each other whenever they are looking for a lie. “Please dad. Tell me the truth…. Please don’t lie. At least together, we will be able to find a solution.” I spoke in nothing but a desperate plea. “Gosh Aly…..” my mother sighed and looked towards me. “Aly, it’s just that….our house…” my father dragged his words. “Our house what?” “Darling, our house was on lease and we were paying the loan for it for the past few years. Suddenly now the owner says that he wants this house back. Plus, he isn’t willing to accept a higher rent payment too. Currently our situation isn’t that good as well….. I am not sure if I would even be able to afford a smaller house than this. I have no idea what to do….” My father sighed as my eyes widened. “What? You mean, he wants us to go to the streets all of the sudden?” I exclaimed, not being able to believe what I just heard. “Alyssa dear….” My mother reached for my hands while I shook my head ferociously. “No mum. I can't…. I mean we can't let this happen. Can I talk to the owner?” I asked. “No Aly, I can handle this-” my father was about to say something, but I cut him off. “Please dad. Just let me try at least….?” I asked desperately and she gave me an unbelievable look. “NO Alyssa. This is adults work and it’s best if you don’t interfere in it. We know how to handle it, so just leave” my father commanded in a strict tone. The kind of tone which scares the s**t out of me. Shaking my head in defeat, I walked to my room. Tears spilled down my cheek when I thought about my parent’s words. I felt so helpless. I wanted to help them so badly, but my father wasn’t letting me help him. What should I do? Wiping my tears, I picked up my phone and saw a notification blinking in it. ‘Come to this address if you want to save your house. Ps: Come alone!’ ---------------- It had been an hour. I didn’t know why I was called here. But something didn’t feel right. It had to be my sixth sense. Why would anyone call me regarding my own house? If it was anyone, then they should have contacted my father, right? I was nervously waiting at the living area of this enormous bungalow. It was a beautiful place. Surrounded by well-furnished walls, with granite tiles and polished wall tiles, the chalet-style bungalow glowed under the light of crystal beaded chandeliers. Wonder who lives in such a huge palace-like place. This kind of houses only reminds me of the horror films, whereby the hero and heroine would only take a room, leaving the ghosts to wander around in the rest of the rooms. “Miss, sir is calling you upstairs. Please take the lift from the right” a guard, dressed in black tuxedo broke my thoughts and told me in a formal tone. Something didn’t feel right ever since I entered this place. Everyone were giving me pitiful stares. As I nodded at the muscular guard, I walked towards the lift when I saw another armed men standing there. For a moment, I forgot how to breathe as I saw the rifle in his hands. My jaws dropped as I stared at him with wide eyes. However, he ignored me and motioned me to keep walking forward. Escorting me to the lift, he pressed the third floor. When the door was closed, he tirned towards me and stared at me through his sunglasses. Who the hell wears sunglasses indoor? “Do you have anything with you?” he barked and I jerked back in fear. “W-what thing?” “Any items, weapons or hidden sharp things?” he asked, maintaining the same tone. I immediately shook my head and he nodded in approval. When the door opened, I heaved a sigh of relief as I saw him walking out. I noticed that he just left me alone and disappeared somewhere. Finally, some fresh air without this creepy guy! I quickly took big steps and rushed out. There were so many room doors and ways to go…. s**t, where do I go? Suddenly a lady wearing tight formal shirt and pencil skirt, walked out from a room and welcomed me with a wide smile. Finally, someone smiled. “This way towards the boss’s room, Miss.” She instructed and pointed to a red-painted tempered glass door. Breathing in a deep breath, I took baby steps towards the room. Till now, this had to be my stupidest decision. Yes, I knew it. But I had to do something to help my family. My house was at stake and I needed to help them. I can't just be sitting at one corner and watch my family suffer. After all, the house where we had been living was where I spent my childhood at. We can't leave this place now…. Not so fast…. As I slowly pressed the handle of the door, I heard a click sound on the other side, fastening my heart rate. Pushing the door apart, I took slow steps inside, still keeping my gaze low. “Welcome…” I heard a deep husky male voice. Wait… the same voice. My eyes widened and I instantly snapped my head up. It was the same freaking guy! Those blue eyes were always my undoing. I didn’t know what to feel. Somehow, there was a tiny excitement which coursed through my body due to our encounter again. He was wearing a tuxedo with rich and shiny black hair, styled into decent spikes. Those sharp jawlines, plumpy lips and neatly shaven beard made him look like a guy who lived in every girl’s dream. Why did he have to look so handsome? I kept gazing at him while his eyes were wandering from my eyes to toes. He had the kind of look which could make your knees turn into jelly. Time didn’t seem to move as I kept silent, waiting him to speak first. However, when that didn’t happen, I straightened my posture and cleared my throat awkwardly. “Were you the one who sent me the message about my house?” I blurted out, hoping that he didn’t catch my shaky tone. I don’t know why, but he made me so nervous. “Yes” he said my name is such a manner that made my heart race so fast. I didn’t know what I was feeling, but this feeling…..definitely wasn’t a good one. “Why did you send me the message?” I asked, scrunching my face in confusion. But all my excitement died the minute he uttered his next words. “Well, you see….. I bought the house you were living in. Actually, more like I forced the owner to sell it to me” he smirked, making me gasp loudly. How dare he? “W-why did you d-do that?” my words stuttered as I saw him standing up from his swivelling chair. His eyes darkened as he walked towards me with a malicious smile. “Because, I want your family to vacate and go to the streets. In fact, I was kind enough to give your parents one month time. If I wanted, I could force them to leave in the next hour” he said as I felt the floor slip beneath me. My eyes watered as I stared at him dumbfounded. “Why do you want to do all this?” “Because I can……..and I want to” he snickered as he slowly hovered over my tiny frame. That’s when I noticed how tall he actually was. I had to crane my head all the way up to gaze at his eyes. His face was blurred due to the tears grazing my eye. But truthfully, he had the kind of power and aura which could give chills to a person. “Do I see tears?” he scoffed, touching the tears trailing down my cheek. I quickly pulled away from his touch, feeling shivers creeping up my spines. “Please don’t do this to my family. What do you want? Why do you want to torture my family? What have they done to you? Do you know I could go to the police and complain against you?” I tried to threaten, but when I saw the faint smile on his lips, I knew it. He wasn’t scared. He was far more dangerous than what I had expected “Police?” he said sarcastically. “Who did you think I am? If I want, I could have killed your entire family with the bullets in my gun!............... Just like how I killed your schoolmate that day” he smiled sinisterly, making my breathing hitch. Holy cow! No….no….no… Was I talking to a murderer all this while? My feet staggered on its own. My hands raised in a voluntary action to push him away and run to escape. However, it was already too late. He had caught my hands and locked it behind my back in a second. He was so fast that I didn’t even have the time to scream. Only a helpless squeal escaped my lips as he pushed me against the door and pasted his body against mine. His eyes turned so dark that I could actually see my own reflection on them. His look was so intense that it made me tongue-tied. I cursed myself to have came here without informing anyone. How could I have been so stupid? “W-what…..dd-do….you…w-want?” I asked as my breathing accelerated. His lips stretched widely. He wasn't about to pretend to be anything other than what he was. He enjoyed every little movement of mine against him. His eyes were locked on mine as he whispered those deadly words which had the power to destroy my life forever. “Sleep with me Alyssa.” ***************** I am totally new to writing.
