Jake stayed all night searching for more information about the Hendrix family and he found a few things he hadn’t known before.
Some were already public news but others were still things he was finding out during his time at the office with Camilla.
“Here is your tea master Jake,” the butler brought a drink for his master who was working late on his new job.
“Did you know that these guys hate each other?” Jake laughed. “The other day I went to the meeting and they were all at each other's throats. I thought they had unity but I guessed wrong. Even the demons sometimes hated each other.”
“So they are at war with each other. Fascinating.”
“I know right?” The man laughed as he took the tea and stood to his feet. “It seems like they all want the company for themselves. Also, I snooped around hospital records and I found something interesting about the cause of the death of Mr Hendrix.”
“That should be interesting. Although you should be careful sir. You don’t want to be caught doing that. How about you hire a private eye to do all of this for you. I can find someone good in the business.”
“Come on,” Jake laughed. “This is fun. Besides, if I had stayed home there are so many things I would be missing out on. I have a job, I can easily work out my martial arts skills and put them to good use and I’m getting more knowledgeable with each day.”
The butler knew that changing his master's mind was a waste of time so he let it go.
“What did you find about Mr Hendrix’s death?”
“Ah ha!” laughed Jake, going to the table to pull up a file. “Look at this.” The butler walked to his side of the table to look into the screen.
“Is that…”
“Poison,” Jake completed. “At least from what I got from my informant, the man didn’t die of natural causes as the media put it. He was poisoned. And I’m beginning to think that whoever did that also wants to kill Camilla as the heiress so they can have the company all to themselves alone.”
“Who do you think could be the culprit?”
“I don’t know and to be fair, I actually don’t care. I could say her brothers Robin and Jackson but they don’t look like they could pull it off. Some of the others on the table are very sneaky so I wouldn’t put it past them.”
“Shouldn’t you go to the police with the evidence you’ve gathered? At least they can handle it themselves.”
“I have no intention to save the heiress or anyone. Camilla is just like the rest of them. I just want to claim what is mine and make them all regret what they did to me. To my family.”
As he said that, the rage in his eyes became evident.
He was all about revenge.

Jake and Camilla walked into the finance house the next day to look through some of the documents they had in store.
“What did my brother tell you that day I was in the powder room?” Camilla said when they were alone as she read through some documents while he looked out of a window with a document in his hand.
He hesitated telling her but decided that an early conflict wasn’t what would help him achieve what he wanted.
“He wanted me to stop coming to the meetings.”
“And what did you say?”
He shrugged. “I told him that would not be possible seeing as I work for you and I do what you tell me to do.”
She approved of the answer as she nodded. “That is a better way to put it. Let him bugger off. Who does he think he is?”
He went back to the documents he was going through while she complained as he saw something that made his blood boil.
He could see in the document a list of properties the Hendrix’s owned that were put up for sale.
One of the items listed was his family mansion. A house he had grown up in.
He had so many memories in that house before leaving for college. Now it would be gone forever.
“Jake?” Camilla touched his arm which brought him back to the present. “Are you alright?”
“Yeah, yeah,” he answered quickly, shutting the document. “These properties listed here… who’s in charge of selling them out?”
“Oh that would be me,” she smiled.
“How did you guys acquire them? And if you had so much money like this, why buy properties you’d sell back?”
She shrugged. “Look, all I know is that I’m selling them off for the prices listed. If you have any rich friends or something that can own the properties off my hands that would be great.”
She sounded disturbed which had Jake feeling for her.
“Are you okay?” He asked as she shook her head.
“Of course I’m not okay,” she sighed. “First my father dies, then my brothers accuse me of killing him, then they take my position as the heiress to the company and now I’m reduced to nothing but a real estate agent while that stupid i***t called Robin gets to host meetings and meet presidents. Do you even know what it is like to have something your whole life just for it to be torn away?”
Jake could relate but he would not say anything.
“Forgive the rants,” she sighed. “It’s just me being pissed by all that’s been happening. Let’s just get to the office. I have a few more files to work on.”
While she walked to her office, Jake looked at the files in his hands.
He had to get back that house. It was the only thing left from his childhood and he was going to get it back.
When Hendrix took the company, he had also taken the house forcing Jake and his family to move to another mansion. He was hellbent on getting back what was his.
