Chapter Twenty-Six Zurie Going back out to Reece’s estate after being gone for over a year felt odd. The winding road that led the way through the sandy loam was still as smooth as glass, just like it had always been. The grass was neatly trimmed, the hedges cut to perfection, and the Mexican Hacienda-style mansion as grand as ever. Reece lived in a perfect world. He felt at peace there. But I never had.
