Three days had passed, and still, there was no sign of Zurie anywhere. Chase’s cop friends had gone to her ex-fiancé’s home to ask if he’d seen her, and the staff told them that he’d taken Zurie on a trip. They didn’t know when he’d be back or where they’d gone.
Her phone was off, so I had a terrible feeling that she’d run off with her ex and maybe even gotten married. Maybe she thought if she married him, then he would save her family from Niko. Maybe he told her that it would be the only way he’d save them.
I really didn't have any idea of what was happening. What I did know was that Niko couldn’t hurt her family anymore. His a*s was in jail, and the judge wouldn’t set bail, deeming him a flight risk. So, Niko wasn’t going anywhere.
