Ava got home tired and happy because of her promotion. She thought to herself, but how come the promotion came so fast, I'm not the only one working hard, or could it be that Caleb loves me, She said that stupidly. Just then she calmed herself down and smiled while undressing.
Ava's joy from her promotion was short-lived as she faced a new challenge. She had barely settled into her apartment when her landlord, Mr. Johnson, arrived, demanding the balance of her previous rent and the upcoming month's payment.
"Good evening," Ava said with a fake smile, trying to hide her anxiety.
