On the far side of the ocean, Landon was jolted awake by shrill screaming. He opened his eyes, exhausted, and saw Fiona dangling in the cage across from him. All traces of sleep vanished. He looked down. He was in the same predicament. Landon stood, frowning, and stared out at the endless blue. A deep, heavy helplessness settled over him. He glanced at his watch. The display read 32. Fiona's crying grew louder. "Landon, what's happening? Why are we locked up? I want to go home..." Landon took a deep breath. He suddenly remembered Shane Aldridge's knowing smile.
