Chapter 20The crowd at Lily’s Oasis Bookstore was animated, to say the least. Violet knew that her suggestion of a charity concert for the Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network was a good idea. How could it not be? Ostensibly, what the band had been accused of—not caring about the victims enough to quit their musical careers—was now put to the test. They were going to use their music to heal and save, rather than terrify and terrorize.
Valerie had been into the idea almost right away. Violet had been shaking as she called, completely worried that her attempt at connection outside of the sacred circle of therapy would come off as conniving or something far worse.
