Liam watched as a storm of emotions crossed Olivia's face, her eyes clouded with hurt and anger. He closed the distance between them and reached out a hand to touch her arm gently, trying to offer some comfort. "Hey, we don't have to go if you don't want to. We can figure something out," Liam said softly. Olivia's eyes met his, as she shoved his hand from hers. "We should go, if my father asked us to be there then we should." "Alright, if that is..." Liam barely finished his words when Olivia stormed inside, leaving Liam dumbfounded. Did he say anything to upset her? He wondered. It didn't take long when Olivia was back in the living room all dressed up and Liam went into the room to also get dressed. He had gotten her a gown the other night to wear today, he wanted to compliment her seeing she wore the gown but he could sense she was upset and he was yet to figure out what was making her angry. He decided not to say a word to her and also get ready. Once he was ready, he sent a message to his father informing him that he and Olivia were on their way to Mr. Parker's house. LIAM: WE ARE ON OUR WAY DAD. He and Olivia both got into his car and headed straight to Mr. Parker's house, the drive was silent. Olivia's gaze remained glued outside the window lost in thought, while Liam stared at her at intervals still trying to figure out what was going on in her head. He soon made a turn into their street as he stopped the car at the gate of Mr. Parker's mansion, he pressed the horn twice but the gate remained locked. He pressed the horn again but nothing, "What the hell is going on?" Liam cursed under his breath. "Mr. Parker has asked that you both walk into the mansion," a male voice sounds on the gate's intercom. Liam exchanged a puzzled look with Olivia before getting out of his car. As they approached the mansion, the imposing gate creaked open slowly but stopped halfway for only a person to pass. Olivia got out of the car with a frown on her face, why would her father want them to walk in? She had never walked into the mansion before, it would take them about fifteen minutes to get to the main door or more. "Open the gate or I will ram my car into the gate," Liam growled into the intercom, what the hell was Mr. Parker up to? Even if he was pretending to be someone else, he wouldn't accept this level of disrespect. The male voice came on again on the intercom, "Sir the..." "Get in the car," Liam ordered not paying attention to the man on the intercom, the worst that would happen right now would be that his identity would be revealed once he broke this gate with his car. "W-What?" Olivia stuttered. "Now!" Liam ordered circling the car and getting into the driver's seat, he started the car engine immediately as Olivia rushed in closing the door. The car drove forward heading towards the gate at full speed, the gate suddenly opened fully for the car to drive in. Olivia placed her hand on her chest taking a deep breath, she had feared that Alex would drive through the gate. But for some awkward reason she didn't care, she looked forward to him breaking her father's gate. As they entered the mansion's courtyard, Liam's car came to a halt in front of the entrance door. He and Olivia got out of their car to find two maids by the door bowing their heads to them. "Welcome home," Miss Olivia one of them greeted rushing to open the door for them. Liam barely spared them a glance or acknowledged their greeting as they stepped in. Liam and Olivia entered the opulent living room, their eyes adjusting to the dim lighting. Olivia scanned the room to find her father, her step-sister Ashley, Mr. Carter, and an unfamiliar man sitting. "I was starting to think you both won't show up, have a seat," Mr. Parker gestured for them to get sited. "Did you inform them to have me walk into the mansion?" Olivia asked as she sat down on the couch alongside Liam. "As we were discussing, this is Mr. Carter and this is Liam Carter. The man you disgraced," Mr. Parker said not paying attention to what Olivia had to say. Olivia turned her head slightly to meet Mr. Carter's gaze. The man looked older than her father but for some awkward reason she could see Alex's face in his or was she imagining things, she turned to stare at Alex and then back at the man. "Will you keep staring like a fool or apologize for what you have done?" Her father demanded irritated by the way she was looking at Mr. Carter. "I-I am sorry Sir, please forgive me, Sir," Olivia managed to speak. Olivia's voice trembled as she apologized, her whole body tense with discomfort. The room fell into a heavy silence as everyone awaited Mr. Carter's response. Mr. Carter's gaze remained locked onto Olivia, his eyes studying her intently as if searching for something in her face. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, he spoke. "No need for apologies, Miss Parker," he said, his voice slow and deliberate. "I believe there may have been a misunderstanding. If anyone should be apologizing, it should be your father." Mr. Parker's expression shifted from annoyance to curiosity as he looked at Mr. Carter. "Apologize? For what reason?" Mr. Carter maintained his calm demeanor. "For deceiving my family and getting us into this mess, you have made my son a joke. Have you seen the headline news? They are claiming my son went into hiding because he was ugly and that is why your daughter here refused to marry him." "What?" Mr. Parker furrowed his brows. He had seen the news but he didn't expect Mr. Carter to bring it up. .Mr. Carter continued, "Your elaborate plan has not only tarnished my family's reputation but also subjected my son to public ridicule. I demand an explanation and an apology." Mr. Parker's face tightened as he absorbed the gravity of the situation. Ashley shifted uncomfortably in her seat, realizing the consequences of her father's actions. Before Mr. Parker could respond, Ashley intervened. "That's why my father is suggesting that I marry your son Sir, I reassure you once this wedding holds the press we see that your son is not who they think he is." "Young lady, did your father not teach you manners?" Mr. Carter asked angrily.
