Dan Anoshi and Adola were still riding towards the palace of Ifite when suddenly their horses stopped and refused to move again. After sometimes Dan stopped pressuring the horse to move and asked Adola to do the same. He dismounted and placed his palm on the ground and closed both eyes.
"What do you hear?" asked Adola..
"a spirit is approaching" Immediately Dan said this the spirit of Adola's mother appeared before them and Adola jumped down her horse to go and embrace her but she stretched forth her hand to stop her.
"Dan Anoshi was right. I am a spirit now and you can't touch me for you if you do you will be dead my daughter" said Adola's mother.
"How come mother? I left you healthy and hearty at the shrine. How come you are talking about being a spirit" Adola needed an explanation and her mother was ready to let her know that it was the king of Randa that cut her down with his enchanted sword. She made Adola to understand that the king of Randa is now at the palace of the ruler of Ifite and that she should go there and take revenge on him without delay.
"Mother does it mean you are actually dead and gone and that I won't get to see you again?" cried Adola.
"I am dead and gone yes but you will be seeing me again. I'm always with you. I have also realised that it took you time to believe in the man you travel with" Adola's mother said and looked at Dan Anoshi. "Have it not bothered you daughter mine why he bears the name Anoshi instead of his father's real name? Many say that it was the god of destiny that impregnated his mother and she gave birth to Dan. I have a mind to think they are right in their assertion and that I'm standing before a god" She finished saying and bowed before Dan. Dan walked up to her and held her shoulders and she rose.
"I thought you said you were a spirit mother yet he touches you" Adola said and her mother looked at her and said, "He is the son of the god Anoshi. I'm privileged to have him touch my spirit for this can mean that I will rest in peace after my work here is done" she disappeared and Adola cried her eyes out.
*************
In Anani, the army of the Dark Men, the witches, the mother witch and her son Yama had set off to war against the ruler of Ifite and they were taking this war to his palace.
************
Inside the palace of the ruler of Ifite he had been waiting patiently for the arrival of Dan and Adola.
"What if he arrives and refuses to listen to us. What if he is a devoted follower of the god of destiny and refuses to aid us" asked the ruler of Ifite.
"You think too much. He will aid us if we offer him what he wants" said the King of Randa.
"Each time you mention What He Wants I'm lead to believe that you are talking about Ifite changing their way of worship and denouncing other gods to follow the god of destiny; our people playing to the tune of Dan and the woman he comes with" said the Seer of Ifite..
"We will dance to his tune for now. That is what i said; for now. Surely to catch a rat you need to set a trap for him with what he enjoys eating" said the king of Randa and the ruler of Ifite and his seer looked at each other and nodded comprehensively.
Before long there was a noise at the gates and Dan and Adola were seen riding towards the palace with their swords raised up in an attempt to start cutting the palace soldiers to the ground immediately they reach the gates. But something was not right. Dan watched as the gate keepers instead of getting ready to defend themselves and the palace they opened the gated for him and Adola. Dan and Adola stopped their horses and refused to enter the opened gate. They dismounted. Adola's eyes had turned red and she was so much in anger. She panted and began to shout on top of her voice. "Show yourself king of Randa. You have done the worst and I will gladly take your head for it!!!"
She kept shouting on top of her voice and her voice reached the throne room of the ruler of Ifite.
"They are here and the voice of the lady with Dan isn't sounding well at all" said the ruler of Ifite and they decided to go out to meet with Dan and Adola. Upon emerging from the palace and Adola's sighting the king of Randa tried to advance towards him but Dan held her back.
"Calm yourself Adola! Lets wait first and know of what they are planning" said Dan as she continued to hold onto her. The king of Randa and the ruler of Ifite and his seer reached where they were standing and to the greatest surprise of Dan and Adola they went down to their kneels and began to shed tears. Adola and Dan looked at each other. They were even more surprised when the all the soldiers, including the soldiers from Ajasi began to kneel before Dan and Adola.
"Is this some sought of a trick?" asked Adola as she was still struggling with Dan.
"Calm yourself!!!" shouted Dan and Adola was shocked to see the anger in his face. She stopped struggling and focused her eyes on the king of Randa.
"Welcome to my palace son of Randa, saviour of the world and defender of the cause of the god of destiny. We are so happy to have you here" said the ruler of Ifite. Dan approached him and pointed his sword at him, "Not long ago you and your seer with a handful of others tried to kill me and my second"
"You attacked us first remember. We mean peace" said the ruler of Ifite.
"We are sorry for everything Dan Anoshi. We are sorry for giving the god of destiny the stress of trying to correct us. We are loyal to him and we want you to lead us on how to worship him better" said the seer of Ifite.
Dan turned to look at Adola and Adola shook her head disapprovingly. She was not ready to forgive the king of Randa; just like that. Dan went closer to her and held her by the shoulder, whispering something to her ear. After that he turned to the king of Randa and began, "If you have pledged your loyalty to the god of destiny then you will be exposed to his laws. You killed Adola's mother,; the prophetess of Randa and because of this you are not pardoned yet. As for the rest who if have genuinely accepted the god of destiny as their only god are pardoned and we can go in and discuss on the way forward"
After he was done Adola walked into the palace without saying a word again. The rest equally entered into the palace and before long they were all seated round the table to discuss further.
"In as much as we have accepted to be the true worshipers of the god of destiny we must tell you that there are others who have not and are bent on destroying the world with their invented gods" said the ruler of Ifite.
"What I'm not comfortable with is the presence of the man that killed my mother. He is seated right here with me on the same table and I'm not permitted to do anything about it" said Adola.
"We are at war Adola, many things happen" said the seer of Ifite.
"There was no war when this man here marched into my mother's shrine and cut her down with his enchanted sword. He is my enemy and until I have his head on a plate I won't rest. I'm seated here listening to all of us because of Dan" said Adola as she adjusted herself angrily. The rest sighed heavily and the ruler of Ifite continued; "There are others who are not in support of your coming to Ifite. These people have been once tormented by the god you serve at the desert of Chama; you have heard about this people and probably have seen them. They are the witches of Anani and they have not only turned against me but have turned the Dark Men of Ifite against me and the rest of the world. They come here ready to take over the palace and send us to the afterlife. We must join hands together; as true worshipers of the god of destiny and fight this big threat heading our way nonstop. If the witches take over the palace they will not remain here. They will expand their dominion to Ajasi, to Amori and to other parts of the world and that will not be pleasing to the god you serve. Which is why I urge you son of Randa to join forces with us and fight the evil that is heading to our doorstep"
Dan stood and paced and after after a while he stood in front of the ruler of Ifite and began; "Do you take me for a fool head of Ifite? Do you not know that I'm aware that the main reason you want to form an alliance with me is because you need my help to defeat those who have betrayed you and have turned down your request to fight me while standing by your side? Do you not know also that I can choose not to aid you and still defeat the enemy heading towards here?" said Dan.
"The enemy that comes is not ordinary Dan, son of Randa. They have successfully turned the Dark Men of Ifite against me and against their gods. If they could do that then there are only little they cannot do. I plead you to please listen to the voice of reasoning and fight this evil with us. We may have made mistakes in the past but we mean well now and are ready to be loyal to the god of destiny. To prove to you that we are ready to denounce other gods we will, this night, bring down all the statues of other gods standing in this palace. This will assure you that we are ready to fight for the cause of the god of destiny"
said the ruler of Ifite pleadingly.
After he was through Dan looked at Adola and Adola looked away. Dan sighed and sat. "We will fight with you" he declared his full support for the ruler of Ifite and his allies.
