Triplet

The only thing running through Alita’s mind was escape. She needed to get away from Xavier. Far away. Because the moment she looked into those piercing blue eyes, she knew one terrifying truth— She had made a very, very dangerous mistake. And somehow, less than twenty-four hours after returning to Mexico, she was already regretting every decision that brought her back. She had returned to destroy the people who ruined her life. To make them suffer. To turn their lives into hell. Yet somehow— She was the one currently being tormented by the devil himself. “How can life be this cruel?” she muttered dramatically, pouting despite the panic bubbling inside her chest. At that moment, she realized something even worse. Her phone. She had left it behind on the bed while changing. “Oh great…” she groaned softly. “Perfect. Just perfect.” Her mind raced frantically. What was she supposed to do now? Then suddenly— Her eyes landed on a telephone booth across the street. Relief instantly flooded through her. Without wasting another second, she hurried toward it and quickly dialed Maya’s number from memory. The call connected almost immediately. “Hello?” Maya answered suspiciously. “Maya, it’s me,” Alita whispered urgently. There was a pause. “What happened?” Maya asked instantly, surprised. Alita never called from unknown numbers. Alita leaned against the booth dramatically. “I’m screwed, Maya.” ⸻ Meanwhile— Inside a sleek black office overlooking the city, Xavier calmly leaned back in his chair while his assistant spoke over the phone. “Boss, we located her,” his assistant reported immediately. “She’s currently staying with her assistant at Oceanic Island.” A pause followed. “Should we bring her over?” A slow smirk appeared on Xavier’s lips. “No.” His voice remained calm. Dangerously calm. “Let her run for now.” His eyes darkened slightly. “Let’s see how long my little Tigress can hide.” ⸻ The Next Morning Alita’s Mansion The twins had already been awake for over an hour. Yet their mother was nowhere to be found. Andria sat on the couch hugging a pillow dramatically. “Where could Momma be?” she asked worriedly. Andrea remained calmer, though even he looked slightly concerned. “Maybe she left early for work,” he replied logically. “It’s not the first time.” “But she promised she’d personally register us for kindergarten today!” Andria pouted sadly. “Stop acting like a baby,” Andrea sighed. “But Momma and Aunt Maya said we’re still children!” “Iron Man says I’m a big guy,” Andrea replied proudly. “And you too. But if you want to keep being a baby, that’s your business.” A deep chuckle suddenly echoed through the room. The twins immediately turned toward the unfamiliar voice. And froze. A tall man stood near the entrance dressed casually in black, his sharp blue eyes fixed on them with amusement. The resemblance was impossible to ignore. Especially Andrea. The twins had always wondered about their father. Whenever they asked their mother, she would simply smile sadly and say— “He’s in a faraway country. He’ll come back someday.” Andria blinked repeatedly. Then she gasped dramatically. “Wait… are we triplets?!” Andrea immediately smacked his forehead. “Use your brain, Andria,” he sighed tiredly. “If he looks like us, then obviously he’s our father.” Xavier almost laughed. Definitely my son. Andria’s eyes sparkled brightly. “Are you really our daddy?” Xavier looked at the two children quietly for a moment before slowly winking at them. Andria squealed excitedly. ⸻ Three Hours Later The scent of pancakes filled the massive kitchen. Xavier stood by the stove flipping pancakes effortlessly while wearing a black apron tied around his waist. The sight looked so absurdly domestic that anyone who knew the feared Xavier Dante would probably faint instantly. Andria sat on the kitchen counter munching happily on apple slices. “You look funny wearing that thing,” she giggled. Andrea remained seated quietly nearby, carefully observing Xavier with curious eyes. He barely spoke much— A trait he clearly inherited from his father. “So…” Andrea finally spoke. “Where have you been all these years?” Xavier glanced toward him. “Why didn’t you visit us in France?” For the very first time in years— Xavier Dante became speechless. What exactly was he supposed to say? That he never knew they existed? That their mother ran away before he even saw her face properly the next morning? Before he could answer, his phone rang. Instantly, the warmth vanished from his expression. The twins visibly stiffened at the sudden change in aura. “Boss,” his assistant spoke quickly. “She’s still at Oceanic Island.” “Should we bring her in?” Xavier’s face turned cold again. “No.” His voice became sharp. “Keep watching her.” “And report any suspicious movement immediately.” The call ended. A second later, the coldness disappeared completely as he turned back toward the twins. The children exchanged nervous glances. That was terrifying. But weirdly… They still liked him. After breakfast, Xavier offered to take them out personally. The twins hesitated at first, but he reassured them that their mother already knew. Eventually, they agreed. Before returning to the villa, Xavier stopped at one of the most elite schools in the city— And personally registered them himself. ⸻ Oceanic Island Alita stared at herself in the mirror. Even she barely recognized herself. Oversized hoodie. Glasses. Cap. Minimal makeup. “You actually look like someone avoiding taxes,” Maya commented while inspecting her disguise. Alita rolled her eyes tiredly. “How long exactly am I supposed to keep hiding like this?” Maya crossed her arms. “As long as your cowardly self remains on this island.” Then she sighed dramatically. “You know exactly what Xavier Dante is capable of.” Her expression darkened slightly. “If he hasn’t already found you… it’s only a matter of time before he does.” Alita groaned softly. “You could’ve at least let me beat him up first,” Maya hissed angrily. “What kind of psychopath blames a drunk woman for that night?” She scoffed. “Was the man blind? Couldn’t he tell you were intoxicated?” Alita sighed quietly. “Don’t worry, Maya.” Her expression softened slightly. “I’ll face him eventually.” A pause followed. “But not yet.” She grabbed her car keys. “Can you check on the twins for me later? I might sneak back home tonight.” “Fine,” Maya muttered dramatically. “But if that devil catches you, I’m denying our friendship publicly.” Alita laughed softly before heading toward her black tinted Benz. ⸻ Alita’s Mansion “Andrea?” “Andria?” Maya searched the mansion repeatedly. No response. A bad feeling slowly crept into her chest. She checked upstairs. The living room. The garden. Nothing. “Oh my God…” Panic immediately flooded her. “No no no no…” Her breathing quickened. “They couldn’t have been kidnapped…” “If Alita finds out the twins are missing, she’ll literally lose her mind.” Suddenly— Her eyes widened. “The guards.” She immediately stormed outside furiously. “Where are the children?!” she snapped angrily. “How does two whole human beings disappear from this mansion?!” The guards lowered their heads nervously. “We… we couldn’t stop him, ma’am,” one finally admitted shakily. Maya’s heart dropped instantly. “Him?” she repeated slowly. The guard swallowed hard. “Xavier Dante.”
