Hazel Betty had not left my side since Harry dropped me home from the hospital. She hovered around in the doorways with water and snacks, asking for the umpteenth time if I needed another thing. Harry had called first thing in the morning to check on me. When he found out I was still at the hospital, he didn't ask twice, just said he was coming and arrived within the hour.
