“I believe your plan is going to work,” Beleg told Castien the moment he walked into the smithy. “However, the captain has ordered the two of you remain here until tomorrow morn.”
“Damnation,” Castien muttered. He had taken advantage of being alone with Theirn to use Ange with the expectation he might indeed need to speak once Beleg had returned.
Beleg looked at him in surprise but made no comment about his ability to talk now as he was aware Castien was a mage. Instead he said, “It worries me he ordered that, and threatened me if I did not make you comply. He may attempt to capture the ‘lass’,” he nodded toward Theirn, “if the prince so orders.”
