Hiroshi couldn’t identify guns, but the two men had handguns with clips and Nozaki had a smaller, streamlined pistol. The black matte of the barrels absorbed the sunlight as they pointed them back and forth between the family and the detectives. Patrick pulled Kiri and Jenna behind him, backing away.
