A hope

After Ethan's departure from her life, Lisa found herself deeply shattered. The connection she had experienced with him was unlike anything she had ever known before. Lost in her memories, she embarked on a journey through the events that unfolded after Ethan's absence. The world seemed harsh and unforgiving to Lisa, now that her beloved was no longer by her side. She bemoaned her circumstances, wishing that at least if he had died, she would have something tangible to remember him by. But such was not the case. Gradually, Lisa began to believe that love was nothing more than a fleeting amusement, devoid of deeper meaning. She turned to a dating app, seeking solace in the company of men who shared her interests. Initially apprehensive, she soon found herself reveling in the thrill. Nights blurred together as she drowned her sorrows in alcohol, seeking refuge in the arms of strangers. Every morning brought a profound sense of shame and self-disgust. Lisa barely recognized herself anymore. The more she pursued this path, the more pronounced the void within her became. She realized that she needed help, someone, to love and support her. She longed to voice her pain but found that no one was willing to listen. Amidst her sadness and devastation, one afternoon in her office, Aunt June entered with Jonathan. Jonathan was tall, handsome, with a charmingly disheveled hairstyle and fair skin—a dreamlike figure. "Lisa! I hope you remember Jonathan?" Aunt June inquired. Lisa looked at him, momentarily taken aback. Then, Jonathan spoke up with a touch of humor, "How could you forget someone who had to wander bald around the city because you accidentally used hair removal cream instead of regular hair cream on his head?" "Oh my God! Jonathan! I'm so sorry. I didn't even recognize you," Lisa exclaimed. Lisa and Jonathan embraced, rekindling their childhood friendship. Aunt June had long wished to witness this smile on Lisa's face. "But what brings you here?" Lisa asked, curious. "Well, it's mostly business, but Aunt June convinced me to spend time with you and rekindle our friendship," Jonathan explained. "Yes, she did. Good luck with your days, and I hope to see you guys soon. Jonathan, you'll be staying with us instead of some hotel," Aunt June added. "Sure, Auntie. I'll be there," Jonathan affirmed. Lisa and Jonathan began rebuilding their friendship day by day. During one conversation, Jonathan asked, "So, Lisa, how has life been treating you lately?" "Seriously, Jonathan? I don't think you should be asking me that question," Lisa replied. "I mean, Aunt June mentioned some guy... Ethan, right?" Jonathan queried. "Yes, Ethan," Lisa confirmed. "Look, Jonathan, that was just a part of my past. It spiraled out of control because it was my first experience, but I'm learning and growing each day. I genuinely believe that I've matured a lot. I see this as an opportunity to grow stronger," Lisa expressed. Jonathan gazed at her and smiled, gently taking her hand. "I'm here for you, Lisa. Anytime, anywhere, anything. Just tell me, and I'll come running, no matter the obstacles." Lisa sensed secrets lingering in the air. She realized their friendship had evolved into something deeper. However, in her heart, she still longed for Ethan. Meanwhile, Jonathan found himself falling deeper in love with Lisa, unable to resist her charms. Lisa was the one girl he could spend his entire life with, never growing tired of her presence. Finally, one evening, Jonathan summoned the courage to seize his chance. With a red rose in hand, he approached Lisa, who looked like a desert flower blooming beneath the moonlight—an angel walking the earth. Jonathan's heart raced as he uttered the words, "Will you be my girlfriend, Lisa? I've never felt this way about anyone before." Lisa felt utterly confused, caught between her emotions and uncertainties. She contemplated remaining silent, hoping the moment would pass. Overwhelmed, she yearned to escape the situation. Later that night Lisa encounters her aunt June. "Lisa, I wanted to talk with you" Aunt June continues "Lisa, ever since your parents left you with me I have tried my best to keep you happy, and now...." "Now what Aunt, you can tell me anything", said Lisa. "I am getting old dear and I have always wanted you to meet someone who can take care of you your entire life so that perhaps I may rest in peace someday feeling me completely done my duty." "What are you talking about Aunt? Are you fine?" "Yes, I am totally fine dear. I just want you to see things differently Lisa. I think Jonathan is perfect for you because he knows you and will definitely be with you your whole life. Just think about it at least for me." Lisa, even having deep feelings for Jonathan didn't want to accept it after all her past was filled by Ethan and some strange people whom she don't even remember. Perhaps she was unsure if she could keep her relationship with Jonathan especially when he is so kind and a very good friend of hers. So she went back to her room and felt a kind of notion and was completely filled with emotions. As she looked out of her window towards the garden there was a knock at the door, she went forward to open it and it was Jonathan "I'm sorry to disturb you at this hour, but I wanted to let you know that you can take your time. I'll be completely fine, even if your answer is no. So, please, don't feel bad about what happened," Jonathan spoke with sincerity. Amidst the chaotic voices echoing in her mind, Lisa's thoughts were consumed by memories of her past, the pain she had endured, and the nights spent with nameless faces. Then there was Jonathan—a dreamlike presence, so irresistible. Overwhelmed by emotions, Lisa moved forward, unable to resist, and kissed him. Jonathan, taken aback by the sudden affection, responded passionately. They found themselves entwined in each other's arms, succumbing to their desires. For Lisa, who had shared her nights with countless men after Ethan, Jonathan felt different. The strength of his embrace, his tender yet firm touch, brought her immeasurable pleasure. At that moment, Lisa realized that Jonathan was more than just a fleeting desire—he was the person who could bring love and stability back into her life. The next morning was very different it was Jonathan by her side. Despite having an immense love and affection by her side she felt it was wrong. She felt like she was somehow cheating on herself and also on Jonathan. Deep down she felt like she can never give him the happiness that he deserves and she might be keeping him in despair. Lisa didn't meet anyone upon waking up and went straight to her office. She didn't know what to say or what to do a mixed feeling of happiness and guilt surrounded her and soon she was unable to understand what she really wanted. She didn't pick call from Jonathan who was calling her on her cellphone. She sat on her chair and tried to sleep just then there was Jonathan "Hey! Are you fine? I mean you didn't speak a word this morning." "Yes, I am all right I just needed some time to...." "You can tell me anything that is on your mind," says Jonathan "Jonathan, you are such a wonderful person, perhaps the best I have ever met in my life. But I don't know what I'm doing to you. I really like you, but I want to take things slow and see how it unfolds. I can't commit fully at this very moment because I'm still figuring out what I truly want in my life." "So, you want to..." "I just want to let things progress naturally. I'll be visiting the farmhouse next week, and I want to spend some time alone there for a month. When I return, I hope to be a different person. Until then... I think we should respect each other's decisions." Jonathan humbly agreed. In his heart, he felt willing to wait a little longer for her. He had harbored love for a long time, hidden from the world and even from himself. And so, they embarked on a new journey, where love was inevitable, but so was the pain and uncertainty of not knowing what the future held for them. After a week, Lisa set off for her trip to the farmhouse, while Jonathan returned to Alaska for a month. Once Lisa reached the farmhouse, everything began to unfold anew. "I understand how challenging this journey has been for you, Lisa," Liam spoke gently as he sat beside her. His eyes held a familiar warmth, reminiscent of Jonathan's. At that moment, Lisa felt a wave of comfort and protection wash over her.
