Chapter 4

1105 Words
Scarlet's POV It was surprising and at the same time painful that the Alpha didn't come to check on me. He doesn't care if I'm dead or not. That shows the level of hatred he has for my host, and I wonder what my host had done in the past to make him loathe her so much. “Or could it be because of this scar?” I muttered to myself, as I sat before the mirror, checking out the long scar that ran across my face. Going back in time was another thing, but what was even more surprising was that it was in the body of someone that looks exactly like me but with a scar. The only memory that was clear and intact in my head was the love my host had for the Alpha, so I don't even know how she got this scar. Since this is my life now, I will do my best to live it to the fullest instead of chasing after an Alpha who doesn't give a f**k about me. “This is easy to cure.” I ran my hand across the scar as I studied it closely. “Alice,” I called out to my personal maid, and in the next second, she was standing next to me. “Yes, my lady.” She bowed. “Get me honey and salt water,” I said to her with a bright smile on my face. “I'm sorry my lady, but what did you need those for?” “Just go get them, then you watch and see.” “Yes, my lady.” Alice smiled back at me and walked away. I thought she was gone until I heard her voice speaking with someone. “My Lord, it's late already. Lady Ariel is weak, and she needs some rest.” Alice's worried voice filled the air as she spoke to the intruder. "I don't wish to be here either; I just want to find out why she's not dead yet." A sharp, metallic voice pierced through the room, and seeing how much he spoke with confidence and the authority his voice held, I knew he was my husband, the Alpha prince. "Well, the Moon Goddess gave me a second chance at life, so I'm still alive and healthy." I came out of my room to face my so-called husband. I couldn't deny how handsome he looked, and how his physique was perfectly built like that of an athlete, with stunningly beautiful features that would fit perfectly for a model. “Scarlet, get a grip of yourself, this is no time to admire him.” A voice jolted me out of my thoughts. "You should leave now! I don't want to see you." I moved closer to him and jutted out my chin as I pointed my finger at the door, urging him to leave. I could see a flash of surprise cross his face at how boldly I had told him to go. If it were the previous me, I would have welcomed him wholeheartedly, even with his flaws. “Don't flatter yourself, I don't want to be here either.” His angry voice roared through the air as his strong arms clutched me by the neck, and he slammed my back hard against the wall. I felt a sharp pain in my back. “Let…me…go.” I cried out, hitting him on his arms, but it had no effect on him. “I'm only here to give you a warning. Tomorrow is my wedding to Sally, and you're grounded. So do yourself good by staying here in your room. If you play any tricks tomorrow, then I'll kill you with my hands!” His hands tightened around my neck, squeezing life out of me as my eyes turned red due to lack of oxygen. “Let me go!” I clawed my fingers against his arms, freeing myself from him. No, it was him who let me go because he was too strong for me to handle. “My lady!” Alice ran over to me and held me still the moment Lucian pushed me away, and I sucked in greedy air like someone who has been hauled from the depths of an ocean. I ran my fingers across my neck where he had held a few seconds ago as I tried to ease the pain that his fingers left, and then I lifted my eyes to face him. “Don't worry my Lord, I won't cause a trick,” I said, breathing heavily. But I will be sure to cause havoc. I thought to myself, glaring hard at him. I won't let him have a peaceful marriage. Never! “You'd better be good, else you'll be punished!” I could sense the hint of anger in his voice when he spoke and so much hatred in his eyes as he stared at me. “Alice, send him out, I'm done talking to him.” “You…” His voice was filled with shock as he tried to speak with me, but before he could complete his words, I turned around and walked out on him. Without saying any more words, he walked out of the room, slamming the door loudly behind him. Once he was out, I sighed, holding the chair beside me for support as I wrapped my hands around my neck. "My Lady, don't you like the Alpha so much? Why didn't you let him stay?" Judging by the kind of person my host was, Alice had expected me to want him to stay, so she must have thought that I was in pain. “Yes, I do care about him. But after the drowning incident, I realized that I should care more for myself instead of loving a man who hates me.” If my host was a weakling, then I would fight for my way and become someone better. “Alice, get me the honey and salt water.” “Yes, my lady.” With the salt water that Alice brought and the other ingredients, I was able to mix them all together and create something for myself. I'm a great and famous doctor in the modern world, so clearing this scar is the least of the things I can do. Alice, who has been watching quietly for all this while, decides to finally speak when she sees me applying the things I have made on my face. “My lady, what are you doing?” “Removing my scar,” I said, smiling at myself in the mirror.
