As I stepped in, I noticed how big his office was, “is every office in this company as huge as this” I wondered to myself, “good morning sir”, I greeted in the low but respectful tone. ‘Good morning’ he replied, “uhm, sir I’m here for the interview, for the P.A position”, I said with my voice trembling, ‘ok, come and have a sit, so I can take a look at your resume’, he replied pointing to the chair in front of his desk. I slowly walked up and took a seat,’ let’s begin’ he said, ‘what’s your name? ’, he added, “Nichole, sir”, I replied, ‘Age?’ he asked again, “I’m 23, sir”, I responded almost immediately. ‘Can I have a look at your resume?’ he asked, stretching his hand forward, “yeah, sure”, I replied, handing it over to him. ‘It says here that you worked in a restaurant out of town?’, he asked, looking up at me , “uhm ye-yes” I replied a little nervous, ‘ why do you think you are qualified for this job?’, he asked, at this point, I could feel the nervousness growing up inside of me, “” ok that’s why you should hire me, because, I’ve worked with, and served people, which means that I’m a people person, and I have learned self-control”, I replied, ‘ so….( Nichole cuts in) “ And oh I make the best coffee” I added I an attempt to lighten up his mood, ‘ ( smiling), yes, your right self-control will be needed for this job, that’s all for now, we’ll call you in two weeks’ time, to inform you if you’ve gotten the job or not’, he said ‘ thank you for your time and cooperation’ he added, whoa glad that’s over, “ thank you also for your time ” I said while standing up. TWO WEEKS , that’s a long time to wait for a response, I might have well give up, and start looking for another job, I thought to myself as I walked out of his office. Once I was out, I heaved a huge sigh of relief. “That went well, I think” I said to myself while heading to the elevator. So deep in thoughts I did not notice that I had pressed the 6th floor button on the elevator, once the elevator’s door were opened, I walked out and headed for what seems like the exit door, before I knew it I had entered a whole new place with cubicles and a bunch of employees working, “oh my Gosh, I couldn’t believe I was lost” I thought to myself. I walked around aimlessly around, looking for a way out, from my review I could see people staring at me, out of nowhere I see a cute guy walking up to me, ‘ Hey, I couldn’t help but notice that you where you were lost ’, he said smiling, showing off hos cute dimples, “ uhm, uh, uh,” I struggled to talk, “uhm, yeah, yeah, I’m lost ” I said still struggling to speak, ‘ well, congratulations, it’s your lucky day cause this guy is on his break, and I can personally show you the way out’ he said as he led me back towards the elevator. Once in we started talking “hey, you look familiar, have we met before?” I asked with uncertainty, ‘I don’t think so’ he replied, ‘if we had, I wouldn’t forget a pretty face like yours’ he added, oh my Gosh did he just call me a pretty face? “ Awwwn thank you” I said now blushing my cheeks off. (Ding…..) The elevator door opened, ‘ uhm, I guess that’s a good bye then’ he said while scratching the back of his head, ‘ Awwwn cute’ I thought, “ yeah, good bye ” I said nervously, um, what’s your ( he cuts in ) ‘ What’s your name ’ he asked, “ Nichole ” I replied, ‘ I’m John’ he added, hmmmm john, cute, matches his cute face and dimples, ‘ can I get your ( employees stars to walk into the elevator, at this point the elevator starts closing ), “ John……” I shouted, but to my disappointment there was no response.
